weve just come back from a comp in northern ireland.. we were suposed to go back to gay paris for the second leg of the efop but ,,,,,,true to form ,b4maytt came up with one of his ...."fancy goin somewhere different " we were struggling for hotel rooms in paris anyway, so off we headed to a place callledddddddddd....................

oh shite .. we land at belfast city airport and matt suddenly realised he had left the details of where we were playing staying etc.. back at home...
on getting in the taxi, he asks the driver, can you name some towns within 45 mins of belfast ,  i pissed mesen laughing ,thE taxi driver turned around and might as well have just said T.AT. but then matt rescued it by remembering it was by a big lough......(.LAKE APPARENTLY)

we eventually got down to a place called MARGHAFELT   ,  FROM THE FIRST meet and greet to the manager taking us to the airport at 6 am this morning( when he finished work)  i had a great time.

we headed for the hotel in the village centre , the casino come bingo hall was 200 yards away, the place was very friendly and accommodating,

it is polar opposites to the bellagio but i would say they are 1 and 2 on my best places to play poker

fromthe first moment we walked in they made us feel reallly welcome, it appeared a bit rough around the edges but once you settled in you saw a lot of staff , a good size poker room  and plans for improvements ove the next few mths.

the competition was a 500 sterling buy in with 140 runners, we kicked off at 6pm ish and cracked at 5.30 in the morning with 22 left , with 18 paid thy creamed off 4 for 18 to 22 and we all came back next day at 6pm(only gripe).

AT 5.30 AM  i was leaving for my hotel , i suddenly realised id been there about 13 hours and was saying goodbye to some 20 to 30 people and i new most of their names and they made a point of comin over a sayin good noite ter yer  fela............... usually icant wait to get out of a casino late doors.

i was ok cos they nearly all seemed to be called seamus, the downside to that was when you asked one seamus if he wanted a drink you had to buy 12 lol.

WE  kicked off aat 6pm and the final broke with a 4 way deal at 12 ,,, as the last flight was 6 pm we played cash and had a great time,  SO IF YER LOOKING FOR SOMEWHERE A BIT DIFFERENT,  A sort of cross BETWEEN SAT IN A POKER ROOM WITH YER PALS AND HAVIN A GREAT TIME with starngers......THEN LOOK UP MARGHAFELT.

THEY  are having their first poker ranking event in  march and they are guaranteeing 100k, which is very ballsy...  they will be able to take 200 runners for that (after their alterations),..

they have 2 waitresses that are at every table evry 2 or 3 mins for 13 hours, they were absolute stars .

LOOK UP MARHGAFELT FOR MARCH YOU WILL ENJOY IT.
JUST REMEMBER NOT TO SHOUT SEAMUS DO YOU WANT  A DRINK, OTHERWISE IT  IS LIKE A NEGATIVE OF  RORKS DRIFT ,WITH LOADS OF GEEZERS WITH BOLD HEADS CHARGIN TOWARDS YER .Wink

most of the cash games and a lot of the tournaments over there are a round of each.
