Vista is going to be much better than XP.

I might wait a year, so that M$ sort out all the bugs!

It doesn't seem to come up with the WUXGA (1920x1200) option anymore when I try to configure a 9400???

It was ridiculously hard for James to get the spec the way he wanted, and certain options were only available by going through the most expensive model and customising from there. The screen is available but very tricky to get to.

The dell site is a little crazy, he started off upgrading from the lower/cheaper model and it ended up around £1800, yet if you start from the top spec already (and customise to the exact same specs)  it worked out about £500 cheaper?! >:?

Personally I think the lappy is fine for what he wants it for, he doesn't really need to upgrade to the Pro edition simply for security/network issues as that's what I'm for!   (but what would I know eh? .....)

The core 2 is a dual core processor - won't you need pro to take advantage of this (ie use it as 2 cpus)?

I can't remember 100% how MS treat it and i'm off out now so can't double check...

Also James, if you are getting a nVidia graphics card, they do have some compatibility problems with PokerTracker.

Having been probably one of the few people who have been to a Microsoft demo of Vista... I can confirm its pretty damn good!! However, I too am going to wait until they've sorted all their issues out as they had to with XP!

That's a very good tip for the Dell site. I'd noticed that a while ago and assumed it was a one off, but obviously not!
