....7 months for a man brought in on a moonbeam by mr murray and has had the lights turned out on him by the chairman and captain.

dangerous precedent to set allowing the captain to dictate to a manager and a chairman backing the player...

a coup me thinks

they'll be tougher to beat if Walter goes back surely?

long term, not the best news for Celtic? or is a genuine battle at the top good news for Scottish football?

I agree...there won't be a smart manager in the world who will want to touch rangers now. No money to spend, a rinky-dink team and now a Chairman who rather listen to the captain (who wasn't playing that well anyways) then let the manager pick his team.

Depends if Walter gets money to spend....

IMHO the current sad state of Rangers and Hearts is dragging the league down, not long after things looked to be on the up. There's an apathy about the Celtic support as well at the moment, it's no fun if they don't even try.....

They said on R5 Live that he may not have been aware of the intense pressure put on managers/teams regarding the old firm games in Scotland.  Surely there is less pressure being a Rangers manager than that of another league such as France, there is only really one other team in the Scottish league they have to try to beat each year.  Isn't there the same rivalry between Liverpool and Everton for example? .  I am not knowledgeable (sp?) about football, but the Scottish pundits comments on R5 confused me regarding him not knowing of the pressure involved while managing Rangers or Celtic in Scotland.

Brilliant lets get super ally in

Great idea, that would be a better laugh than PLG

Totally predictable outcome as I posted earlier although this is gonna cost Murray a fortune to pay PLG & his backroom staff off.

My tip for next manager of the darkside is Billy Davies.

They always talk about people underestimating the pressure of the old firm matches. IMO it's bollox. There's pressure everywhere but atleast this way they can make it sound like an old firm match really is a big deal (admittedly it is in scotland but this season it wasn't really as none expected Rangers to even draw). PLG had Lyon in the CL for fecks sake. the man understands pressure fine. He just didn't get any time or any serious money to spend. David Murray has done a lot for Rangers of that there is no doubt but it's time for him to move out so someone can take them to the next level as at the moment it's sub-standard for any league.

to be honest walter is a known entity and genuinly wouldnt worry me. with scotland he has kept it simple and organised them into a  hard to break down outfit.
i`d be genuinly suprised if murray went back for him as it tends not to work.

I think you both miss the point, the pressure doesn't come with the quality of the league. In Glasgow 2nd is last, that may be insular & parochial but its also true, in France footy isn't that important.

I get that but..if rangers had been in second the problem wouldn't have been that great. Murray should have stood by him for atleast another season IMO. sacking a manager after 7 months just goes to show that he has no idea where he wants to take the club..and aslong as that happens they will always be second.
