Dear tikay,

A $$5 administration fee* has been charged to your inactive account. The next charge will be deducted from you account balance on: 30-Jan-2007.
However, this fee will NOT be charged if your account, or any related account, is reactivated on or before 29-Jan-2007.
Reactivating your account is easy: Just log in and place a cash wager, enter a tournament with a cash entry fee, or play a raked hand.
*TERMS & CONDITIONS If you do not access your Account by "logging on" to your Account using your Account name and password for any period of 180 days, then after those 180 days (the "180 day grace period") your Account (and any related account with any ESP) will be deemed "Inactive". If your Account becomes Inactive, then the Company is entitled to charge you an administrative fee (the "Inactive Account Fee"). The Inactive Account Fee shall be deducted from your Account Balance at the end of each calendar month in accordance with the Inactive Account Fee Schedule. We will stop deducting the Inactive Account Fee from your Account Balance if your Account is re-activated.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Our Customer Care team is available 24/7.

I got the same a few weeks ago.
The joke was that the only money in the account was theirs; they had put $11 in my account to 'welcome me back' just two days prior to charging me the admin fee....

Now, we KNOW that the lovely folks who run Party Poker are the world's worst (by design I suspct) at Customer Service, & the world's worst (ditto) at PR.
But, given that they ARE hugely successful, one assumes there is a method in their madness. Did some Marketing geek in
wake up one day & say "hey, I just had this great idea boss. We'll write to all the inactive Accounts & rub 'em up the wrong way, that'll bring 'em all flocking back"?
I mean, DOES it work, or are these guys really stupid?

Party Poker or "poker poker" (as you state at the start of your Post). Be careful, "poka poka" is another site.

you all miss the point...its not a marketing manager gone mad...
they want you think "bollocks, I'll just play a hand or three to save the charge"and then they can reclassify you as an active customer from a dormant account when they report shortly to their shareholders....which makes the results look better .."look how we are keeping our customers" etc etc
if you leave, they don't care
if you stay they get to claim the charge
its win win win for them
not that I am at all cynical

Don't forget that, pre-ban obviosuly, Party Poker was the most popular online cardroom in the World. They must have been doing something right.

Pedantic correction. NOT the most popular, but the busiest.....

You laugh now, but you'll all end up on Party one day anyway. They've just signed an agreement with Playtech, who bought Tribecca not so long ago.
