Good player, but a disgusting person.

I don't know if you're right.... I disagree wholeheartedly with his politics - to the point of near fisticuffs with someone with a Di canio doing the facist salute badge. But there was a mate of mine who had terminal cancer, and Di canio was in the West Ham team, and he paid a taxi to come meet the guy, couldn't be friendlier, and went out of his way for no reason but he thought he should.

I hate his beliefs, but I can't quite hate the man....

Nazi salutes aint my cup of tea & I'll stand against anyone who does them. Suggest some reading to 'enlighten ' me and I'll read it, but he's still a facist. I've said he's a decent guy - read that on the internet above, but I can't reconcile with his right-wing views.

I'm off to kip now so debate has to wait till tomorrow.

is it a racist or fascist salute ............does it mean the same as the bnp clown give the hitler / nazi sign or is it a traditional politically motivated salute to the lazio fans by a misguided thick footballer totally carried away in the moment by his love for his club (who are traditionally steeped in historical fsacist connections)

an interesting discussion point me thinks.

i hav read 2 books on the life of di canio and it makes fascinating reading .... he is a very complex character passionate and loyal to his family and home club.....to the point of extreme , but unless to delve into a character like dicsnio it  IS POINTLESS TO SAY I THINK HE IS THIS OR THAT.......... he is an addictive personality who has suffered mental problems through this .

he is well worth reading about then u will understand th salute.............
