310 players started this tournaments, 130 returned today, 119 are still playing.

Ivan Jones is the first player of the day to be eliminated. Made his swan song with Pocket Jacks but his opponent spiked a King on the Flop.

Table tikay has been rather aggressive, a little in attitude as well as play, but there have been some resulting large hands -

Dan Smith doubles up in a rather hairy situation - he'd raised in position and got called, flop .  His opponent immediately pushed all-in for 29k (that's an overbet, that is) and Dan decided to call with his ...  He was up against and said, "I had a tense moment," as the turn and river came blanks.  But he's now got 65k which is nice.

A minute later and short stack Peter Evans is all-in with , with two potential callers.  In the end it's a simple race against the of Owen Lyons, who lost it and is down to the felt.

Nick Slade is OUT.

He raised under-the-gun with Pocket 4's, only to find action from Dave O'Callaghan in late position with A-T.

On their backs, and an Ace on the Flop was enough to win it for the Irishman who rakes in a nice pot.

Neil Kelly has doubled up off John Clancey. T-T vs 9-9.

A threeway all in attracts Announcement, and thereby me into the crowd - it's vs. of Conor Smith vs. of Tommy Watson who called after all the action in front of him, giving away the fact that his hand was a good deal better than average...

Flop (for the sake of drama, coming out one card at a time):

three clubs
Turn:    "Something for everyone, but more for Tommy"
River:    and Conor Smith is eliminated.

---------------

Meanwhile, Kevin Buckley has surpassed the 30k mark after finding 8-8 vs A-J on a J-8-x Flop.

Some chip counts from around the room, which is being mixed up like a poker blender as players bust out every few minutes and the tables broken down - we're finding our lists of players (which only just appeared in their entirety) are not a lot of help any more.

Kieran Small      41,000
Billy Ngo           30,000
Dinh Le            8,000
Collette Murphy  30,000
Jim Reid             34,000
Mats Iremark      20,000
Thomas Dunwoodie  27,500
tikay                  14,000
Dan Smith          77,000
Sligo John          107,000
Stephen MacLean  46,000
Peter Evans         24,000
Sean Clery          20,000  (apparently driving his table slightly nuts)

John Keown is OUT.

In fact, his exit has led to Richie Lawlor taking the chip lead with over 100k.

First off, Richie bust his Pocket Queens with 9-7 a nine high flop, and then, the very next hand, Richie finished him off with Tens vs T-8 on Ten high board.

-----------

Keith Cummins has doubled up after calling an all-in with Pocket Tens on a Flop of two spades . Opponent had A-5 which failed to improve.

Neil Kelly is OUT.

All-in on a 9-4-J Flop with Q-J, he found Jack Byron with J-9. 9 on Turn sealed his fate.

So is Sean Carey.

Back to the real world, and Tikay is OUT -

He'd gotten down to under 12k, and was going to have to make a move.  As it turns out that move was with on the blinds (hooray!), but the late position raiser was short-stacked Mats Iremark (pictured) who'd pushed with three diamonds.  All fine until the river, then the Ace.  Hard luck, Mr. Kendall.

Gerry Dolans has doubled up off Broadway regular C Constantinou, K-Qs vs K-To.

Gerry is now on around 20k.

Noel Hayes is OUT.

We've been told the aim of today, tournament running wise, is to get all the way down to the Final Table of 9.  They've got a seriously long way to go if that's to happen... Meanwhile there are a couple of stacks which are considerably bigger than the rest of the field - one of them this guy's - Richard Lawler - over 80k.
