Biggest hand of the tournament now!

In a battle of the blinds, Keith Cummins (small) and Ciaran Burke (big) see a cheap three clubs Two Diamonds Flop.

And from this seemingly harmless flop, it all goes crazy.

Cummins bets out 35k, Burke raises another 60k, Cummins sticks in what looked to be about another 80k before Burke announced all-in for another 256k.

Following a brief session in the think tank, Cummins makes the call and shows T-9, but he is in deep trouble as Burke reveals 2-9.

Turn =

River =

Personally, I though that was a rather suspect call. With few draws on the board and facing a re-re-raise, it seemed pretty obvious that Burke had something like 9-3 or 9-2. However, Cummins appears to be a tough player who doesn't like to lie down, often making these gutsy calls. On this occasion, however, it didn't turn out well for the man from Kerry.

This isn't gutsy - its just bad. Tough player or not - you really need to be finding folds here. Again though, just my opinion. Keith has a had a great tournament overall and must be doing a lot right to be still there.

True, even though there was a lot in the pot, I think this was a poor call. At a pinch, he could be making the move with 4-5, but even that's unlikely. I can't really see how Keith thought he was winning this... maybe he didn't and just got over-excited by the size of the pot.

I put them on 9-3 and K-9... not too far off.

McDaid calls under the gun, small blind Ciaran Burke makes it up, and Scott Byron checks the big blind.  Flop:  Two Diamonds .  Ciaran bets out 70k and faced a raise involving a stack of grey 25k chips from Terry McDaid (after Scott got out of the way).  He eventually passed.  This isn't the first time I've seen him bet out early and get pushed off by a raise from late - I wonder if he's got nothing and bets unappealing flops, releasing if anyone shows interest, or if he's hitting a little bit and just playing it weak.

Clancy raises from under the gun and Burke smooth calls from the button.

Flop =

Clancy checks and Burke bets 110k.

Clancy folds and Burke shows .

A bit trigger happy there perhaps?

Chip counts - unashamedly copied from Tom Murphy's notepad:

Kieran Burke (apologies if I've been spelling this with a 'C' incorrectly)  920,000
Scott Byron       610,000
Terry McDaid     750,000
John Clancy       550,000
Keith Cummins   300,000

OK - We're going to settle on CIARON for the spelling of Mr. Burke's first name.  You've got to understand, to say some of the names on the original sheet were illegible is an understatement - they bore little relation to language, more like cave paintings.

Bit of action for you, and once again it involves Mr Cummins.

Battle of the blinds again with Ciaron Burke.

Flop =

Cummins checks, Ciaron bets 50k and Cummins moves in for 306k.

Long dwell, 256k more, but he decides to fold, showing a Jack in the process.

I aslo caught a sneak peak at Keith's hand.

Can anyone guess what he had?

First correct answer wins not one, but two coconuts.

To make it fair, here's Keith Cummins after announcing all-in.

Can you get a read on that mug?

Keep guessing?

Both cards required for both coconuts to be handed out.

The Final Five (like the Famous Five but solving the mysteries of poker) are on a break.  We have nothing to report.
