I have been working in casino’s for the past 16 years, where I often meet people who think the games are fixed, they are obviously not, but when you loose your money, that’s how it feels.

You constantly see players on-line writing comments about the game being fixed, I don’t believe for one minute that Whilliam Hill or Ladbrokes or any other reputable company would fix their games, why would they?
 Huh?

An established company like Ladbrokes has too much to risk. It really isn't worth it. They make money whether it's fixed or not.

However, it's not beyond the realms of possibilty...

there is no need to fix it, the companies are drowning in money anyhow.

But more than that, it would be bloody difficult to write the program code to fix the game, that wasn't obvious to the users - I mean provably so and not this urban myth stuff of calclulating action flops, etc.

It isn't fixed. It feels like it is, but it ain't...

It only feels like it because, as said on another thread, ppl will draw to the river more often online than live.  Multiply this by the fact that you're playing many more hands and the most trusting, logical person could be forgiven for becoming a conspiracy theory believer.

I don't think it is fixed at all..it is not in their interest to do that..however i do think that some sites may use bot's to fill the seats..I am amazed at the guaranteed tourneys seem to fill with 20 sec's to go.

I am a firm believer that online poker is NOT fixed in anyway, the companies would be committing commercial suicide to try such a thing. Also i use poker tracker (yeah i know yawn but its useful) and my stats seem to indicate no bias at all. AA holding up as many times as expected and being my most profitable hand followed by kings. Its a long term game and some very strange things happen in the short term

I'm watching WPT young guns on sky 121.  Scott Fishman has A-Qo  -  David Williams has 5-5.

DW all in.

Flop Q-5-8

Turn Q - Fishman gutted.

River Q!!!!!

If this happened online you'd be thinking it's fixed but it happens live too.  Just you see more hands online so you see more beats/suck outs.

hitting that gutshot 2 was just as bad against trip 3's. I watched an episode a couple of weeks ago where a guy had A7 vs AK I think, and a king came on the flop, only for the other guy to hit running 7's to win. And he went on to win the tournament, so they do happen in real life. I get more cross when I have the big overpair in a monster pot and get called by a flush draw which always hits. Happened the last six or seven times, but you just gotta live with it.
