All this cup football this weekend had me thinking
of the first ever cup final I ever attended.

It was the 1974 league Cup final and I found the
highlights on You tube. I was six at the time.

As well as being my first final it was notable as it had two players
scoring hat tricks and the offside law was changed for the competition.
If you watch closely you'll see the 18 yard box line stretches out to the touchline.
Uefa were experimenting . You could only be offside over this line.

Anyway where/when was your first cup final?

I've only ever been to one Cup Final - Arsenal v Southampton.   Not particularly a great game but we won 1-0 with Pires scoring the goal.

I went to a Rugby League cup final at Wembley many years ago - does rugby count?  Hull KR v Wigan but can't remember much about (like who won)  Was only about 10 and went with my Dad and Grandad

my 1st cup final... see if anyone remembers this one!

The Full Members Cup

Manchester City vs Chelsea

in what you COULD call the ULTIMATE in Man City's unpredictableness

Take the lead

and by the time it was decided ( by my dad) that we leave it was 5-1 to Chelsea.

As we're walking along Wembley Way all we can hear every 45 seconds is "yyyyayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"

yeah typically it finished 5-4
