The European Poker Tour (EPT) regrets to announce that the 2007
French Open poker tournament due to be held at Casino Barrière de
Deauville from 20-24th February, 2007, has been cancelled.

This is as a direct result of last-minute intervention by the
French authorities making it impossible for the Lucien Barrière group to
run a poker tournament on their premises in Deauville.

We sincerely apologise to all players due to attend the event, but
unfortunately these circumstances were beyond our control. We will be
considering our options to appeal against this decision to the highest authority and will
advise of any developments.

Yes, as I understand it. The french have no problem with poker in casinos but are wobbling over online poker. Figure that one out! One wonders what will happen to the Paris WPT, as WPT has its own online site.

A big thanks to John Duthie & his Team for Posting this on blonde.

I dropped him a note this morning pointing out that EPT Press Releases were being Posted on other Fora, but with minimal response, but on blonde, where we found out "second-hand", the Thread ran to 3 Pages.

As ever, John listened to his Market.
