Okay, here's one you'll love.

Paul Parker has been telling everyone about a 'great' laydown he made, even though his opponent never revealed his hand.

Mateyboy, who Paul described as a solid tight player, made a standard raise from under-the-gun.

Paul called with Pocket Nines and saw an A-9-4 Flop.

Mateyboy bet out and Paul called.

The Turn came a non flushing, non straighting card like an 8, and the initial raiser decided to check.

Paul bet out his second nuts, only for Mateyboy to re-raise.

Paul then folded, later claiming that he was SURE that his opponent held Aces.

What do you make of that fold?

N.B That's not a tankard.

For Queen of Hearts and any other Stuart Nash supporters...

Stuart Nash is now chipped up after crippling Roberto Romanello.

Roberto limped for 300, Lawrence made it 600, Stuart smooth called, Roberto made it 2,000, Lawrence called, Stuart re-raised to 5,000, Roberto moved all-in, Lawrence folded and Stuart called.

Can anyone guess the hands?

Roberto Romanello, who was shortstacked after his confrontation with Stuart Nash, is now OUT.

nice updates!

Does the winner get the extra £13k or is it distributed to final 3 etc?

Nah, the winner gets it. So 1st is especially lucrative in this event.

John Gale is OUT (too disheartened to comment further - him, not me)

Tikay has Lawrence Gosney on his left, and Neil Channing and  Stuart Nash as tablemates.  He says Stuart just played Aces "stunningly."  I assume that's why his stack is bigger.

Just now, a flop of two hearts   Tikay checks, Lawrence bets 300, the cutoff raises to 2,000, tikay gets out of the way.
Turn:    Lawrence checks, the cutoff bets 2k
River:    Now Lawrence bets out 4,500, and gets a pretty quick pass for his efforts.   Hmmmm...

IMO if Mateyboy is a rock he wouldnt be raising UTG with aces, more likely to be raising UTG with AK AQ suited than aces. Limping with aces UTG is a normal move for rocks hopeing to induce some action preflop. Once Mateyboy has represented the flop by coming out betting on flop theres no way I could put him on AA. The check raise on the turn I believe is a lets find out where I am bet with my top pair top kicker hand. Thats my opinion and like others I'm sure my chips would have gone into the middle, whether or not they would have come back to me is another matter lol

Most people here seem to think that the most likely hand here is A-K or A-Q. Someone suggested A-9 or 4-4, but they seem like unlikey hands for a tight played to be raising under the gun with.

Almost, both were trapping monsters. Whilst Roberto had limped with Kings, Stuart Nash had smooth called a minimum raise, with a limper, with the American Airlines. Interesting one!

The MUG has trebled up!!!

James 'Royal Flush' Dempsey is now on 40,650 after his T-9 on a T-9-6 Flop outdrew both Joey Lovelady's (of Liverpool) 7-8 and Mateyboy's 9-6. Ten on the Turn gave Flushy the pot.
