Lots of people play poker for lots of reasons

some people have different stlyes and attitudes in the way they play

for me one of the best results of getting into poker is getting to know paul parker

he is one of the nicest and popular people out there

i wouldnt of passed but if paul says on his feel it was the correct play at that stage  fair enough

i can understand the pass tikay,  strange exzample but how many times have we got rockets and we know were behind on the flop and stick it in  or got kings pre flop know someones got aces and stick it in,  it takes a true great to be able to pass a player who has been in the game as long as paul has has seen it all, he wouldnt of passed if he thought he was ahead and who are we to judge him he has relied on his reads for years

have to say i respect his pass personally i couldnt of done it but it takes like i said before a true great to pass thease hands
To say he wouldn't have passed if he thought he was ahead, is a given. But my point is can you really ever win one of these things with his mind set?

I have no idea. Maybe he prefers to live to fight another day, to "survive" rather than win. Each to their own. See my previous Post.
But the point is, he didn't survive!

Think wider! Paul takes a longer view.

He's survived for 20 years +. Not many can say that - not you, me, not Praz, not Karl.

Damon D'Cruz raises on the button - it works and 42k in blinds goes to him.

Praz raises to 50k, in what passes for early position when you're six-handed.  Alan Henson re-raises all in, next to speak.  Back round to Praz, who takes his time on every decision, but has made so many good ones this tournament that we accept it.  Call, for the extra 120kish.

Praz shows:
Alan shows:

Flop:
Turn: Two Diamonds
River:

And with three pair Praz Bansi eliminates Alan Henson in 6th place for a prize of £10,800.

Line 3 of that sums it up for me. When Paul is on you table, you gonna have FUN!

No sledging, no bad-mouthing, no undignified whooping & hollering when he sucks out on someone, (jeez, there was a lot of that in Bolton), Tournament Poker is much the richer for Paul's presence. Which is why I felt it necessary to explain snoopy's comment, in case anyone thought it was intended in a derogatory way.
