I was invited to play in the William Hill Garnd Prix at the end of October , the cost is £6000 , UK Betting have already agreed a superb schedule and don't want to add this but as it is being held in the studios of Late Night Poker in Cardiff and instead of filming 2 heats a day as we used to , there is only one being filmed as the structure is player friendly i will play if i can sell some shares .

The format is the same as LNP , 48 invited pros and 8 online qualifiers , there is £114,000 added to the prizepool and first prize is £150,000 ,winner of each heat goes to the final , runner up to the semi for the last place in the final .

I'm the first to admit my form of late has been crap , however i have two points in my favour .

When the first 6 series of LNP were filmed i had the best record , 2 finals finsihing 1st and 2nd , i actually played 9 times . Series 1 came 3rd , Series 2 won my heat and final , Series 3 6th , Series 4 , 2nd in my heat , won the semi , 2nd in the final , Series 5 + 6 came 7th both times , i played the Poker Million twice and finshed 2nd both times , so out of 11 times i finished 1st or 2nd 7 times . The second point is during the WSOP i wanted to play the $10,000 Omaha which also wasn't on my schedule , i sold off 67% and went on to finish 5th winning $93,300 . I was backed in the second Poker Million when i came second in the heat .

To be honest i wasn't going to try this but i recieved an email telling me the cut off point is 3rd October and decided i have nothing to lose by trying , obviously in an ideal world i will hit form at the Vic next week and £6000 will be a drop in the ocean but back in the real world it is beyond my current bankroll .

At the WSOP as i was no 1 last year in Omaha and won the 220 runner event at the Master Classics i was selling 10% for $1500 , a 50% markup , one guy had 20% and i returned him $18,600 , i can't guarantee i will win but who knows , on previous form i have a chance.

I will sell 1% to whatever you want at £75 a %age , if there is not enough interest fair enough i'll forget it , i will not be offering this anywhere else as i only post here now and would prefer my fellow blondites to have a horse exclusively , i'll give it until Sunday 1st October and see what happens , i'm too thick skinned to let it bother me if i only sell 2 shares , thanks mum lol.

Hi Simon,
Im glad you posted this offer , because i have always wondered about something with these type of offers and I believe you will give an honest answer.
You offer 1% @ £75 which is with a 25% mark up. I know you are not alone with this type of mark up, as several pro's do too.

But what I dont understand is , using your own words," that you dont have the bank roll for it" but would obviously love to play. The need to have a mark up, because with out these share holders , you are not going to be able to play. So everyone needs each other equally.
Im sure more people would be willing to buy a % on an even cost

This is in no way a dig at you personally as Im sure you know, but it has always puzzled me in this specific circumstances.

First of all "I know it" in reply to your question

Regarding my bankroll , i would not risk more than 5% on a tournament of his type , therefore i need £120,000 minimum which currently i am below .

Secondly where a player is considered to have an edge they usually will charge a %age above .

A standard deal on a one off basis is someone puts up the full amount and you play for 50% with a makeup , ie the entry fee is deducted before splitting the remainder , therefore in this case you are getting a 100% markup so 25% is quite reasonable.

One can only try and see what the response is , so far although many have read this post no one has been interested in buying a share , i suppose if i have to i could sell 70% at £60 a time and put up £1800 to play for 30% , i think to be honest i saw the list of all the players and as it represents most of the old LNP players i felt i wanted to be part of it and i believe i can win it .

In reality it's not that important .

If i am successful at the Vic next week or even Baden the following week and there is still a place left i will reconsider my position , i am very fortunate to have a great sponsorship deal with UK Betting , my next events include 4 at the Vic , the EPT in Baden , 3 events including the EPT in Dublin , then Amsterdam , Paris and St Kitts so missing this event is no big deal .

Do you have an edge against the runners posted above? No offence but most are on par with you results wise right? Is that worth a 25% mark up? Saying that I've always enjoyed watching you play and would like to get involved if the price is right!


I'd buy at £60-£65 maybe but I'm small time and 2 shares is all I can commit to! Still I work for Tesco and 'Every Little Helps'!
