14.2 W Khotsofalang to Collins
And it's been caught! Marvellous fielding there, absolutely marvellous!

eeek, just realized i've made a major booboo, i had bought in a 2nd bowler this week (Worrell) but when picking my team in a rush it appears as though i've selected the man above him from the drop down box and he's not a bowler Sad

on the plus side i suppose he'll be fresh for the cup game sunday, just hope i dont give away too many runs in this game having got off to a good start!!

Well after 20 overs my opponents are 87-3

Which looks good but could be even better if you take into account the figures of my "mistake" bowler

Wilde 5-0-44-0

i am in total shock i was expecting to be out by now this guy has 1 bowler whose BT rating is higher than my combined team
his final bowler that is about to come in has a BT double my best

my aim was to bat aslong as possible to keep the net RR respectable as it might be needed to sort out the play off later on

i am well happy with the score

End of Over 20: 101-2, runrate=5.05

remember i put in all my young trainees for today too
my kids havent done too bad might try this TIE more often

(oh put in a 21 year old captain today with worthless experaince and he gets a 50)

phew!! obviously my captain could see the managers glaring mistake and has replaced him, normal service has been resumed!

And a wicket maiden as a bonus Smiley quite pleased so far as this team are above me in the league with a +runrate ave

End of Over 23: 94-4, runrate=4.09
Burns 5-2-11-2
Donovan* 39 (64 balls)
Woodward 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Vaughan b. Burns 9 (FOW: 94/4)

22.6 . Burns to Woodward
Shortish ball just outside off stump. The batsman shuffles across to it and forces it up to mid on in defence.
22.5 . Burns to Woodward
Burns finds some nice turn but Woodward just pads the ball away to short leg. No run.
22.4 . Burns to Woodward
A play and a miss. Woodward rehearses a forward defensive a few times.
22.3 . Burns to Woodward
Good ball, nicely pushed out into the off side though.
22.2 W Burns to Vaughan
Spooned high into the air, and amazingly lands on his stumps.
22.1 . Burns to Vaughan
Good length delivery on the stumps and Vaughan is behind it defending well. He looks for the single but decides against it. He’s keeping the fielders on their toes here.

End of Over 22: 94-3, runrate=4.27
Hagan 1-0-2-0
Vaughan* 9 (8 balls)
Donovan 39 (64 balls)

Last Wicket: Daltrey lbw b. Burns 35 (FOW: 79/3)

21.6 . Hagan to Donovan
He’s bowled that one a bit quicker and it has completely surprised Donovan.
21.5 . Hagan to Donovan
Full and drifting in on the toes, clipped away straight to mid wicket.
21.4 . Hagan to Donovan
Donovan leaves that one, and Tau gathers easily.
21.3 . Hagan to Donovan
Good length ball straightening off the seam on the line of off stump. Defended from the crease and played with a straight bat towards mid off.
21.3 wd Hagan to Donovan
Donovan takes a couple of paces down the pitch. Hagan tries to bowl wide to thwart him and ends up overdoing it.
21.2 . Hagan to Donovan
Ooooh, that was a poor stroke by Donovan. Tau is going to give him some grief about that in the balls to come. It will be interesting to see if he can keep his cool.
21.1 1 Hagan to Vaughan
Hmmm, that wasn't exactly textbook stuff by Vaughan, but it'll get him a run anyway.

End of Over 21: 92-3, runrate=4.38
Burns 4-1-11-1
Vaughan* 8 (7 balls)
Donovan 39 (59 balls)

Last Wicket: Daltrey lbw b. Burns 35 (FOW: 79/3)

20.6 . Burns to Donovan
    Forward defensively into the covers.
20.5 . Burns to Donovan
Burns comes in to Donovan. Nothing there.

I GFI'd today, thought it would be a win without but after a bad start oppo might GFI and I didn't want to lose. Next 2 games are against the "class" in the league so I can TIE and get some fitness back.

Going ok so far:
End of Over 28: 103-4, runrate=3.68

Just wish I got to bad first to get some runs for my batsmen.

And that's the end of the match. Ruswarp Ponies won by 10 wickets.
gurus gang   58-10
Ruswarp Ponies   59-0

3 from 3 but 3 out the next 4 are against much tougher oppo.

good news: yet another consistent performance from my spinner - Burns 10-2-26-2

bad news: my "mistake" has been brought back into the bowling attack and with very first ball, not sure i like the commentators description Sad

33.1 1 Wilde to Donovan
I'm not sure which was worse there, Wilde's delivery or Donovan's inability to get anything more than a single from it.

I TIE today against arguably the best side in the league and I'm being well and truly horsed.  93 all out.

maybe my mistake could turn out to be a stroke of tactical genious?

Have a really really bad bowler at one end to lull the batsmen into a false sense of security - then put a good bowler on at the other end and hey presto....... Cheesy

End of Over 35: 150-5, runrate=4.29
Hagan 6-1-25-1
Donovan* 51 (94 balls)
Phiwokwakhe 0 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Woodward lbw b. Hagan 41 (FOW: 150/5)

34.6 . Hagan to Phiwokwakhe
He’s bowled that one a bit quicker and it has completely surprised Phiwokwakhe.
34.5 . Hagan to Phiwokwakhe
Full and drifting in on the toes, clipped away straight to mid wicket.
34.4 . Hagan to Phiwokwakhe
Phiwokwakhe leaves that one, and Tau gathers easily.
34.3 . Hagan to Phiwokwakhe
Good length ball straightening off the seam on the line of off stump. Defended from the crease and played with a straight bat towards mid off.
34.2 W Hagan to Woodward
The only thing the ball was missing was the bat.
34.1 . Hagan to Woodward
Ooooh, that was a poor stroke by Woodward. Tau is going to give him some grief about that in the balls to come. It will be interesting to see if he can keep his cool.

End of Over 34: 150-4, runrate=4.41
Wilde 7-0-61-0
Woodward* 41 (42 balls)
Donovan 51 (94 balls)

Last Wicket: Vaughan b. Burns 9 (FOW: 94/4)

33.6 1 Wilde to Woodward
Hmmm, that wasn't exactly textbook stuff by Woodward, but it'll get him a run anyway.
33.5 . Wilde to Woodward
Quick delivery, just outside the off, beats the bat.
33.4 4 Wilde to Woodward
That one is short down off and Woodward has chipped it over second slip for four. If you're going to bowl there you need a third man.
33.3 4 Wilde to Woodward
Straight bat, he managed to get into the gap past cover and a boundary is the result.
33.2 2 Wilde to Woodward
That should only have been one run, but lazy fielding by Burns allowed the batsmen to steal a second.
33.1 1 Wilde to Donovan
I'm not sure which was worse there, Wilde's delivery or Donovan's inability to get anything more than a single from it.
