End of Over 37: 189-9, runrate=5.11, reqrunrate=10.38 (323-7)

Nailbiter....

End of Over 38: 177-4, runrate=4.66, reqrunrate=12.33 (324-4)

ditto.

Although if it wasn't for Clarke I'd have lost by a mile, if he's not MOTM it will be a travesty!

which one are you?

ratings can be deceptive too, my middle order will most likely get a feeble rating today, despite having a strong batsman in it who will plunder runs!

First time I've seen this one........

40.2    W   Hickey to Bryant
Don't blame it on the ball shine, don't blame it on the great flight, don't blame it on the crease line, blame it on the googly! That's out!

End of Over 44: 274-5, runrate=6.23, reqrunrate=6.17 (310-8)
Knowles 10-1-70-0
Monkhouse* 73 (70 balls)
Trueman 95 (108 balls)

Last Wicket: Arrowsmith lbw b. Berry 18 (FOW: 108/5)

Looks like i'm going to lose my first game Cry for the first time in the innings the run rate has overtaken the required run rate......

Just one quick wicket to break this partnership  dont river me

Wow, the monkey cricket gods have answered!!

End of Over 45: 280-7, runrate=6.22, reqrunrate=6.20 (310-8)
Burns 8-0-37-2
Sidwell* 1 (1 balls)
Monkhouse 74 (72 balls)

Last Wicket: Person c. Berry b. Burns 0 (FOW: 275/7)

44.6 b4 Burns to Monkhouse
Oh my... Burns spun that one out of the rough, and it beat absolutely everyone. Great bowling but poor keeping I'm afraid.
44.5 1 Burns to Sidwell
In the air, but safely into the gap. He’ll pick up one there.
44.4 W Burns to Person
Flighted full, swept away in the air out to deep mid wicket where Berry takes a good catch.
44.3 . Burns to Person
Played with a straight bat, no run.
44.2 W Burns to Trueman
Full ball and the attempted hoick over long on is taken on the ropes. Good catch by St. hubbins.
44.1 1 Burns to Monkhouse
Pushed into the covers and a quick single is taken.

They're still on course at the current run rate though Sad

And that's the end of the match. Stumblers won by 71 runs.
Stumblers   304-9
SheriffsStars   233-10

In the circumstances it doesn't look too bad a defeat.  Some solid performances from a few players without ever looking like a win was achievable.

£24k in gate receipts.  Perhaps I should expand the ground but am not sure what the impact of many losses this season will have on crowds anyway.  I'm not sure the supporter/sponsor moods will recognise the fact that a team is outclassed before it gets on the pitch.
