A couple of pleasing things from today's training
Birchall is now over 40k
Pickering, my 19yo AR is over 20k ( focusing on his bowling)
Wilks, my 21yo AR is nearly 16k ( focusing on his batting)
Mega tough FC game tomorrow, away on a dusty pitch to a pretty equal team ( looking at their squad) and I've only got one spinner, and he's only resp!!

Both my all rounders were pretty poor last season, didn't help neither of them had no stamina to speak of.. Got Birchall as a 17yo when his BTR was 3094 for £5k. he was a comp bat/med conc/med wk He's now 20, superb bat/superb conc/remark wk Just single netting him now on batting and a stamina net, as he's my best player, he deserves to have better stamina and play more often Wonder what I'd get for him now.. |

I got Harding for 2k last season as a 17yr old. Was 4k rated and med/med. Is now a resp everything bar wk and due to pop.
Have been thinking of stopping his nets as a couple of my 17 yr olds could be even better if they get the right nets now.
I need to find another opener. Bought one for 5k last season, a 26 yr old only a med bat with med stam, but scores runs for fun. against human teams too

Most of my youth pulls seem to have hit a tipping point where their performances turned from awful to great within a week, was most odd. Think it might be getting to certain level of experience as they all took different times despite being similar in skills, and the one with the lowest experience at the moment took the longest. Since then they've just been getting better and better.

I played the hardest game of my season. Or so I thought. Batted 1st and ended the day on 631-5!!! Centuries for 3 of my batsmen including Birchall, and 2 half centuries too. Going to declare now and go to bowl them out twice. |

I then got bowled out for 28.
Internationals then ran up 164-0 in their second innings.
Not looking good for a 3rd day really!

bowled bot for 33, hit 360 and declared, took 3 wickets in bot's 2nd innings.
Hall has 6 wickets in the match so far, making 31 in FC for the season.
