Why would someone need a card protector?  Roll Eyes

I use my hands.

I think it takes away slightly from your thinking process about a potential hand, if you are always thinking about putting a protector on your cards before raising you are slightly distracted, small effect but true.

Also i think you draw more attention to the strength of your hand when you make a scene of putting the protector on, or at least make more people sit up and take note than normally they would.

I just use whatever the smallest value chip is in game. Then when all in just keep a finger on the cards which looks strong anyway.

My buddy had a gift from his Mrs of a little gold wizard with a staff about 3/4 inch high. He played a live local tourney and won it using his wizard as a card protector. Happy days.

The next night he entered the laddies 20k and placed the little fella on his laptop. The problem was when he busted out he just shut the lid down and it went straight through the screen. Oops. I never saw him use it again.

In Killarney this year I saw a dealer muck a hand in seat 7! Let alone seats 1 or 9/10.

I've got a gold horseshoe with the T8MML branded across it which was specially made for me on my 50th birthday (I know some will be surprised I'm over 21).

It was bought for me by an old pro some here may remember - Bobdabutcher aka Bob Clarke

Sigh, how could we forget Bob, or, more likely, his full on kisses. Ugh.

We sort of fell out a bit over that, though I think we are cool now. He insists on kissing everyone full on the lips, & it is all wet & sloppy. Truly, I don't like it one little bit, (seriously), & I've come close to losing my temper over it a few times. I saw him a bit back, & avoided eye-contact, I really don't need the aggro. Some character, & I have had a lot of fun times with him, & Debbie. He used to have a spieler in South London which I played in a few times. I believe Bob was spotted at G-Luton recently.

Really like your line here, oh I hate big sloopy kisses knowing everyone will now do it, these old schoolers got it boxed, impressed.

yeah i hearya Tony about the kissing although i thought he used to put his hand between mouths - probably liked your aftershave more than most - O;d Spice was it?? Wink

i met Bob the first time I played live and must admit I loved his positive outlook on life and general enthusiasm for the game. We still keep in touch.

Debbie is my hero. On Bobs 60th she booked a surprise party for him and invited the wife and I for dinner at this really posh restaurant at the hotel we were all staying at. Bob didnt know and they came downstairs having a blazing arguement with Debbie in full flow fin an c ing like a docker!! walked round the corner and saw us and the mood changed but not the colourful language. The restaurant manager took me to one side and offered us a "private" room for our party.

I wonder why lol!

Debbie, lol, what a girl she is.

I have & had no issue with Bob, none except the damn kissing thing, & no, there was no hands between mouths with me, it was almost a tongue job, & I loathed it with a passion. That apart, he brings life to any room, & then some. He was driving a big bright red Rolls Royce last time I saw him, Lord Butcher! We had some fun times, fondly remembered. I won a lump of money in a private cash game one night & Bob sort of looked after me, as I had to exit down some dodgy fire escape in the middle of the night in the back of beyond.

I alternate between a Vegas casino chip I found in my luggage when I returned from one trip there or a quarter coin I also found in there.

Do you recall you & I making a Final Table at Binions one night in some two-bit comp, Phil? We played on that "proper" Table, up on a plinth, proper posh. 2004, 2005?
