lol no but at least have a system or some kind of bankroll management. It just annoys me that people still belive they can go in there and come out a winner. And its even worse when you can see them trying to get it back. Its obvious that people like him dont have millions of dollars to waste, he just likes coming down and being made to feel important. He thinks its all comped but 15K rrom x 3 nights and 3k credit card have all come out of his 300k!!!!! Why cant ppl f****** realise that its far from a free holiday! Idiots

They do realise, just these 'idiots' who are fantastically successful like to have a bit of fun. Him betting $5k might be like you betting £50

I know but there were little clues. Like his wife hated gambling. My missus doesnt think its the best thing in the world but as long as i see a profit she cant complain. It must only be the fact that he loses money he cant afford, that she detests it. He said himself he hides his gambling from her and come on, that is THE BIGGEST sign of a losing gambling addict! She wouldnt complain if he came home +300k! (or at least the initial 50k that he won but wouldnt quit!).

I don't agree - my man can afford to loose a lot (and I mean a lot) but on Sunday he lost £150 (nothing to him) on one hand in a cash game on line. Now even I, not the most clued up, could see he was behind but he bet into this guy and was called with the nuts and lost the money. To him £150 is nothing, and I know that but I hate waste for wastes sake (don't mention my slot addicition - that's different  ) and I had a shout at him.

I'm sure that next time he'll hide it from me - even though he can easily afford it.

But your husband doesnt have a addiction problem if he loses 150 quid and doesnt tell you because as you stated he has a huge bankroll. I think you would have a much bigger problem and give him a reason to hide it if he had lost 300,000 dollars. Plus the fact your hubby lost it on a poker table is already a huge difference between the game of roullette which is always stacked against you.

If you are a bad poker player (not saying Bern is, far from it infact) roulette is probably better than playing poker.

Right time to start playing roulette for me then.

Depends to an extent on how you play Roulette. Playing optimally, the odds are...pretty bad. Playing like he did, the odds are...really bad.
The gambling addict has to get a kick out of it, and this really only happens if he's putting money on the line that is significant to him. Do you really enjoy playing poker at $0.01-0.02 limit? It's no fun at all. By the look on his face at the end, he lost a sum that was significant to him. Whatever, I would still be concerned at having been taken for a mug by these guys. 'Sometimes you lose, other time's you'll win', he said as he was leaving. Overall, you will lose, and unless corrected a guy like that will end up losing his shirt. 'For me it's like a sport, other people play golf, I gamble.' Yeah right...

You can't play roulette skillfully.

The more you put on the board, the more edge the casino has. It doesn't matter where you put your bets.*

Unless you're playing at a table with an en prison rule

How will he lose his shirt? he is clearly very wealthy and its not like he lives in Vegas. He knows he will lose over time. If instead of gambling he spent his time buying yachts would that make it better? It's the same thing to him, a hobby is a hobby, i don't see the problem.

Its just i dont feel that the man we are debating here has an infinite source of funds to gamble with. They dont give the 15k a night suite to someone who breaks even in the end. He is a loser, addict, and in my opinion cannot afford to lose the amount that he did.

How do you know how much he is worth?

If he is worth $1bn then losing $250k is nothing.

This will never be resolved due to the fact we will not know just how much he is worth. I just have a hunch he was not crazily wealthy and that he was no the sort who could afford to lose 300k!

Well this guy was the biggest Matrass manufacturer in Canada..so I'm guessing he's got a few $ to spend.
300k is a lot of money to everybody (other then Bill gates and Chelski's Roman) but if he wants to spend it then why not?

The old lady at the slots who'd lost 4mill$ in 7 years and lived in that shitty gated community with her son...now she really couldn't afford it by the looks of things.
