Michael Buerk, 60 year old BBC newsreader, was booked to do an after dinner speech at the Capital Club in London. Very plush, exclusive etc His fee was negotiated at £7,500. Nice work if you can get it I suppose The speech began "Hegel said a man should only speak for as long as it takes him to make love" He then sat down, end of speech!   |
