Just watched it, bloody brilliant. Took me back a couple of years when i made the exact same road journey although we stopped in hotels rather than that crappy little tent in a field, lol. The car i was driving was a little better aswell!
The race track they visited was something i used to fly over nearly daily aswell, its right next to a Pratt and Whitney test center where they test the most powerful engines in the world (space shuttle kinda stuff), they point them upside down and fire the things sending massive jets of hot air and fire into the air, always good to check if they are testing before you plan to fly that way!
Brilliant show, just a shame they didn't show the locals being nice! Southerners are extremely friendly until you piss them off.
Flushy, have alwys wanted to do the same thing. Take a driving holdiay along the south. were you living out there at the time or did you just fly across and start driving? Bi tit wasnt cheap!
Wasn't really a driving holiday, i was living in FL when a few hurricanes came to visit, we aimed for Tallahassee but then had to carry on moving and stopped in Mobile AL, which happens to be horrible (the bit where they are driving over that massive bridge is Mobile) we then had to head on to New Orleans to collect a generator of all things (it was about the only 1 available in the SE USA) that was all pre Katrina though, things are even worse there now than they were before.
