I was sitting next to this guy last night and he was pondering it for a while afterwards, so i thought id post it on here and see what you all thought.

He was in the BB with  with 6 other people in the pot (blinds 100-200). he had around 7-8k chips and the flop comes  two spades he checks and a tight aggressive player bets 600. Another player calls the 600 and its folded around to him. Both other players have around 7-8k chips. What do you do?

He folded and showed?!?!?

I like the check on the flop, but I would of re raised all in here once a bet has been made after me.

I'd stick them all in. $2.4k in the pot already makes for a significant amount of fold equity, and you're only behind to a made flush or set.

I'm amazed at the fold...I wouldn't lay that down.

i was sat next to him he folded and showed me as there was still action on the table. he said he was worried about the made flush and the ace being out with alot of players being in the pot. turns out the original bettor had a made flush but the king would of been good as another spade came on the river.

How many people were left to act after him if he had raised, what type of players were they, is he likely to have had any type of read that on what type of hand they might have? Acting from the BB isn't a great place to be betting out from, particuly aganst 2 players when you have just top pair and drawing to the second nuts hand (posibly worse if the board pairs). It's possible you could catch them in a squeeze play but I wouldn't say this situation is an automatic reraise, I must admit its an odd hand to show or did you just hapen to peak at it?

Do you not think raising more than 3x the pot kinda tells your oppos what you have?

Yes, but this is live - I find people less likely to call an all in bet than on the net.

I quite like check-call here. Its a hand that I want to play, but not a hand that I am confident enough to play hard and go broke on. If I can keep it small, then I can reassess on the next street. If I have 8k and blinds at 100/200 then I can lose a few chips and still be in reasonable shape. If he has a small flush, then he may bang the turn if its a brick and there I possibly bail depending on the size of the bet.

Its not a Hero Pass - its more like the fear of busting out. Online it does not matter so much, you just start another tourney.

Yep you don't see a lot of the Hero passes in your normal tourneys..Hero check raises however seem to be very common...or atleastpeople seem to like them against me lately in live tourneys lol
