Bonkers Hand Crowns New Leader News Now -

I was drawn over by an excited Martyn Cavanagh to get some muttered commentary courtesy of Paul Jackson on this crazy hand - There was a standard raise, called by Edward Phipps on the button.  According to Paul, this guy has been playing 80% of hands, calling with any two and winning enough of them to have a stack of around 30k by the time this hand happened.  Anyway, the big blind then makes it 5,200 to go (a re-raise of 4k) losing the original guy, but not the tenacious Mr. Phipps.

Flop came Ten high.  Now, bear in mind that the pot gets to over 60k here - it goes, bet out, raise all in, instacall.
Big blind, Mr. Greg Howard showed
Button, Mr. Edward Phipps showed
The rest came low, and the rest of the table was speechless.  "What planet are they on, and why do I not have any chips?" grumbles ActionJack, or words to that effect, as his 8k or so looks even less powerful...

Pictured - the new chip leader, in process of stacking.

any disqualifications yet?

We've come close. In fact there was a bit of kafuffle on Table Granstad, the Norwegian becoming rather irritated at being forced to wait.

Basically, what happened is that with the Flop showing three clubs Two Clubs , Mick Fletcher bet 2,750 only for Peter 'The Bandit' Evans to make it 5,450. As you may have noticed, this is 50 short, and before anything could be said, Mick Fletcher had raised again for the rest of his chips.

Clearly beat, Peter tries to convince everyone that it should be a smooth call and his chips should be returned, but following a bit of a seemingly endless debate with supervisor Zak, he conceded, splashed the chips in and folded.

"It was obvious he was raising," rants Granstad, "this is ridiculous."

In the meantime, Bandit has a right cob on.

Guys

Could you please do me a favour if you get the chance and give me an occasional update on John Tabatabai, King muff.
Regards Nick

Noted. Can you give a description to ensure we get the right guy. People have already started moving around.

Sorry folks. I asked this question hours ago and had to go out.....John is also known as kunkuwap, he is young guy, dark hair and I can guarantee he will be well known by now to the room!!  Smiley Smiley

Yes, I've been including him in chip counts.

He's just this minute gone.  Sandy from badbeat had sent Hartwith to go keep an eye on the short stack (as he was likely to double or bust at any second) but his chips weren't there when we got down and it turned out that he'd gone with T-J vs. T-K, both hitting trips and being outkicked.

Is it just me, or do Ian Woodley and Barny Boatman look like twins?

Anyhow, I mistakenly made the suggestion to them, to which Barny replied, "Oh thank you very much."

"But you do, two peas in a pod."

"You'll look like us soon if you keep that up," moans an irate Barny clenching his fist.  Cheesy

To which Ian Woodley responded, "Hold on, I'm the one that should be moaning, not you!"

A couple more counts:

Joe Grech     7,600
Ray Brown    27,000
Peter Evans  26,800 (although this might be before the raise 'controversy')
Mickey Wernick  15,500
Henning Granstad  8,100  (each check he's down to 2k, then up to 8k, then down to 2k again - like a scaled-down YoYo...)

Matt Tyler has got the cake after his Aces were raised by Matt Dale and then all-in by Philip Dorrington. Matt also moved all-in forcing to Matt Dale to fold, only to find out that Dorrington was making a move with Two Clubs. Anyhow, although the Flop came an 'I've got an out at least' 2-Q-Q Flop, the 6 on the Turn and the 2 on the River meant that a relieved Tyler was allowed to rake in the chips.

Jen has been entertained by the three consecutive pics she posted of E Phipps on this page. Apparantly, if you use the page up and down buttons to flick between the photos you can make Phipps dance and Rokach clap like a monkey.
