I thought if you talked about your hand whilst still in play it was declared dead?

Different places different rules it seems, but this is more than just talking about hands, this is warning off a bet.

That's disgraceful.

I have seen some bad things in live comps - would be interested in what people think about this example.

Its bubble time in a comp - Folded round to SB who is short stacked and goes all in.  BB has plenty of chips, and is the SB's mate and folds, showing KK.  Cue amazement by the rest of the table to which BB says he doesnt want to knock him out as he was his mate, and SB needed the players league points (esp for consecutive final tables).

SB ends up splitting the tournament.

I, along with several others including the guy who did go out on the bubble eventually, thought this was disgusting.

Both examples in this thread are disgusting.  These players should not only be 'd but banned from the card rooms where the incidents took place.  Angry

My best mate has busted me out on 3 seperate occassions recently in MTT, cash and a home game (Grrrr).  I'd give him a right bollocking if he soft played me when short stacked.  Everyone who plays us knbows there is never soft play and that is how it should be.

I soft play tikay a bit sometimes, I know I know, but I might be his age one day, he's seen two world wars for god's sake, you have to cut him a little slack
