the rule for these events jen is that you have to be in your seat when your 2nd card is dealt to you or your hand is dead.

in blackpool my hand was deemed dead because i wasnt in my seat for the first card dealt,

and that was one hand before a chp count ,and my blind .

Blackpool was not a GUKPT Event.

rules here are different barry. They are a hybred of the tda rules from what i can see but the rule about hand being dead if you werent sat down when your 2nd card was dealt was announced before comp started clearly over the tanoy.

I was about to say the same thing there Tikay. The usual Grosvenor rules don't apply to this event as it has its own. Which for this particular issue is not in seat when your 2nd card is dealt means your hand is mucked.

Apparently, Peter Evans wasn't too keen to sign the release form in Bolton, but was eventually persuaded to so. It will be interesting to see if he is arkward today with regards to interviews, the cameras the general razzmatazz of it being a televised event.

Dan Carter made it 28k (twice the big blind), Chris Bruce moved all-in for what I believe was 165k.

Then, with all the cameras swarming round, Billy Ngo stood up and took a deep inhale of breath, clearly burdened by a tough decision.

A few minutes in the think tank passed, and Billy was still thinking, Peter Evans commenting, "If you just turned the camera off he'd pass" which prised a few giggles from the crowd.

Then Chris Bruce said, "Do you want some advice?"

Billy nodded.

"You can find a better spot."

With this Billy made the call and showed .

ooooooh went the crowd.

Chris revealed , after Dan had folded.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh went the crowd.

Flop = two hearts

Turn =

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh went the crowd.

At this point, Billy lost control and jumped up and down in celebration, shouting at the top of his voice.

River =

Ngo punches the air and releases a yelp that was heard right through to the press room.

"Take it quietly," an onlooker exclaimed.

"You don't need to ask who won," added someone else.

A dejected Chris Bruce, meanwhile, simply tapped the table and said nice hand, clearly crushed to have missed out on the televised final table, and to be dealt such a crushing blow too.

Now that's what I'm talkin' bout!

Thats Class reportage right there, it doesn't get any better than that.

Well telled that man!!

From time to time, 425 had problems with players who, quite legitimately & reasonably, did not wish to sign away their image rights. That's their absolute right, unless the Tournament Rules, available in advance of entering, make it clear that it's compulsory, in which case, the player knows the score in advance & can hardly complain. I respect players rights to protect their image rights, but equally, if the Rules say "you have no choice" then it's maybe best not to enter the Tourney if it's a problem.

In any case, 425 would just say to the objecting player, "fine, no prob, we'll just edit out any footage of you", & in every single case, they said "OK I agree to be filmed"!
