Got to tell someone......

Only played in about 10 live tourneys, always at the local casino. Well the local Stanley's casino have introduced a Saturday night 2nd chance £30 freezeout. Unfortunately there's not a great turnout at the moment due possibly to the starting time of 5.30 pm and also the infancy of the tourney. So I turn up on Saturday night to be notified there are 18 runners, almost double last weeks  Grin.  Previously I have only ever played in the regular £10 re-buy lotto were your given 1000 chips and the blinds are 50/100 to start  and my previous best is bubbling twice.

Anyways I couldn't have asked for a better start, Aces 1st hand. Give it the standard raise, get 2 callers. Flop comes down put in a 2/3Rd's pot raise, one caller. Check/check the turn. Small bet on river and foe folds.... Nice! Next hand I flop a flush to take all the chips of the well known maniac  Cool. From then on I played TAG, keeping my chips at a nice level. Gets to the final table were I start to get crap hands. Fold on a regular basisand my chips are dwindling quite rapidly as the blinds are huge. Take a couple of chances and double up a couple of time... always with the best of it I hasten to add, no muffing. Soon enough I actually make the money, then it was like a switch that had been turned on. I decided to take this thing down with some mega aggressive play. I totally surprised myself the way I was playing, and I'm sure I surprised the rest of the table as well. Eventually we were heads up with equal stacks of 80,000 and blinds 4000/8000. 1st hand pocket 7's.. all in foe folds. 2nd hand pocket 7's.... all in foe folds to much disgust... Now I know he's angry. 3rd hand....I'm in the BB with A10 suited. I know he's gonna raise, which he does, I give him the all in move.... his face was a picture  He calls with Q7 and I take it down.

OK I know it was only 18 runners and the prize was £336 but it was just nice to break my duck in live play.... and I never gave any one a bad beat nor did I receive any... so I'm well chuffed.

Sorry to bore everyone with the gory details, but the missus thinks I'm speaking dutch!

Very well done.

You need to make sure you instill the missus with a basic knowledge of poker at some point.
They can be very useful baby sitting internet tournaments while you take much needed bathroom breaks.

No need Tank, my 12 year old daughter does that for me. Totally fearless, read bluffs easily ( personally I think she's a bit of a calling station, but needs must! ).

Thanks Tank.
