I am the only one who thinks the vast majority of the BIG US drama serial shows are utter crap, We all know how Lost will end, 24 is Ott.
One of the writers of lost was on a live chat on the net answering Q's and he didn't even get a lot of the stuff his fans were going on about.
The only one i like is the 4400 but thats because the whole thing was written and each series concludes by answering Q's not just resetting them.
BTW isn't hero's just a rip off of 4400, a bunch of people given abilities to save/destroy human kind?.
Bones is okay doesn't take it self to seriously.

I hate all UK TV series. They are terrible, the acting is crap and the stories are seriously boring. The Bill, any soap, and most British films have the same old faces time and time again. US TV shows are far slicker and the acting is in a different class. The latest big BBC show about the dinosaurs ( Primeval? ) is so bad that I lasted 3 minutes 18 seconds before turning off, it is pathetic.

This is one of my faves atm, episode 17 was simply brilliant.
Probs my 2nd favourite behind Prison Break, but ahead of Lost and Jericho.
1. Prison Break 2. 24 3. LOST 4. Jericho 5. Heroes
Would you care to re-think that order?
Nearly the same as mine, change jericho and lost around. you can also add one tree hill on the end of that
one tree hill? Basketball series?

...24 is Ott...
This the main problem I have with it, I can really only suspend my utter disbelief so far.
I liked season one, and even into season two it had some nice touches, but at best it has been recycling itself for some time now, and at worst it is just laughable (e.g. Chloe taking on terrorists with an assault rifle in season 4).
Also - the one truly indispensible character the show offered IMO was not Bauer, but David Palmer.

So the drama on monday with David Tennant was rubbish?
Life on mars
Trial and retribution
Shameless
I don t count soaps as drama. soap is soap
American shows well acted
.
As for slick production, yes too slick, all pretty faces and chisled jaws and cgi.
Have to agree that the new stuff like medievil and robinhood are utter parp, but they seem to be emulating US shows.
I can't disagree more about films, British films are so slick and dialogue is usually good ,(something hollywood has plain forgotten.)
True you have to look about to find gems like essexboys.
Even the Simpsons has gone up its own backside, (saving gags for the film?)
I think TV in General is just not very good anymore, so shows that are goodish get Bigged up.
I don't mind though i would rather play poker

I am coming to the end of season 5 of 24 at the moment. Sometimes TV shows go on a bit too long, such as ALIAS and X Files. John Dogget was a good addition to the X FILES, but the stories were becoming a bit boring by then.

Is David Tennant an actor? I can't watch these other shows, the acting is painfully bad. I watched the first episode of Life on Mars, but gave up after that.
There are some good British actors such as Patrick Stewart, etc. However, I can't think of one good actor who actually acts in a British production. 24 has Keither Sutherland, our equivalent is some bloke in the Bill

One of the reasons I have time for Lost though IS because it poses more questions than it answers; it follows a long tradition of shows that do this - from The Prisoner, Sapphire and Steel, Twin Peaks, The X-Files...
It's so much better than Prison Break for example, which has few questions, and even fewer worth answering; the conspiracy angle of that show was always so over-simplified as to be far less gripping for me than the mechanics of how Genius Brother was actually going to break out of the Big House - now that they're all out and about, the conspiracy is all that's left.
If it weren't for Bagwell, I would have stopped watching ages ago.

the Drama about brain damage with David Tennant was amazing, best drama i've seen in about 6 or 7 years.
I find Kiether Sutherland is just acting Hard in the American flag waving way, same role he's played for ever.
24 is a great idea with the clock ticking, but it doesnt make sense that the clock isnt related to the action.
I think some people just click with the Usa culture, i just don't.
I watched Hot Fuzz at the weekend and i havent laughed so hard at a film in ages.
