Please can someone help me.

I woke up today at 1pm only to find myself rushing off to the loo to be sick.

I haven't been drinking or smoking and I slept for a reasonable 8 hours, so my only guess is that I ate something bad for tea last night.

Since that first vomit at 1pm, I have been throwing up periodically every 20-30 minutes (the gaps are thankfully increasing), so that's 15-20 times I've had to rush to the loo and stick my head down the bog. On many of those occasions, I stuck my fingers down my mouth to speed up the process as I felt so nauseous. When I didn't do this, I still threw up, it just took slightly longer and meant that I felt ill for longer.

Most of my vomit is now bile, or whatever that horrible tasting yellow stuff is. I have tried sipping water, but this made no difference and just came up on my next visit. I have also tried sipping flat coke and nibbling at brown bread, but the same applies.

I am writing this now after my last session. Soon I'll be feeling ill again, but for 10 minutes or so after vomiting, I don't feel too bad, just tired and am capable of reading, browsing tinternet or whatever.

I am exhausted both mentally and physically and was wondering what I should do. If anyone can offer any pearls of wisdom, then please do, because being sick is starting to become really hard work and I don't want to do it anymore.

Heal me someone, please.

Ta.

I can't remember the old wives tale of trying flat coke and brown bread? Sure someone will have more qualified advice, but sure rest and liquids will come in to it. Get well.

Dry toast and sips of cold water would be my advice, get well soon.

Dont just drink water, if you can get some one to run to the shop for you get an isotonic sports drink, i.e Powerade. (this will replace the water but also the sodium and potasasium levels which is why you are feeling mentally fatigued. Also get lucozade for some energy if you are unable to eat anything.
You should not be vomiting so regualrly, means your body still thinks there is something bad in you and is trying to clean it out. Fluid is the main thing as you are propably very dehydrated but you will know yourself what sort of food might stay down. And get and see a doctor if not gone in the morning!

WTF did you eat?

Don't try eating anything until you haven't thrown up for at least three hours. Wait for an hour after vomiting before trying water, and then only sipping it (if you're throwing up after drinking water then your stomach's not ready for anything yet).

Sounds like a stomach bug to me if you're bringing up bile.

I'd not eat anything, and just have very small sips of water every 10 minutes or so to keep yourself hydrated.  Any more and you'll just bring it back up.

Hope you're feeling better soon - I know how crappy you must be feeling now Sad

Flat lemonade was always recommended for the kids, basically any clear fluid. As most of the others have said, avoid all food for several hours without being sick.

If you can get someone to go to an all night chemist, some Dioralite would be the best thing you could have. It replaces everything that you are losing.

Thanks, a flat lucozade would be nice now, but I'm not well enough to go down the shop.

I haven't been sick since that opening post, so hopefully I'm on the mend.
