Paris Aviation Club

I am in Paris next weekend, workish related. I have some time to fill and was wondering if anybody has any experience of the club, preferrably other than at major event time.
What's it like, can I get away with pretty poor French etc?

It's lovely, don't miss it Robert. Just take your Passport for ID, no Membership is necessary.
Everyone can speak English, though they do tend to speak Fench at the tables, but it is in Paris, so hard to complain.
Find a nice €100 sit-down cash game - €100 (or €200 if youn prefer) is the MOST youi can pull up, & enjoy.
Play throuigh the night, & they serve THE most delicious English Breakfast, free of charge, at about 0600am. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, lovely. If Bruno is there, please say Hi to him from Jen and I. Oh, & they have a 5 star restaurant, that's worth a try too.
Outside, stand awhile on the Champs Elysses, the Arc de Triomphe is 200 metres to the right, and the Place de la Concorde a kilometre to the left, a kilometre further is The Louvre, and if you can find the time, work your way aliong to La Defence, where the most orignial office bulding in the world - Le Grande Arch - awaits.
A lovely place, truly.

Yeah, him. He's a quite wonderful host. He sorta runs the Aviation. He is usually playing in a MONSTER cash game with David Benyamine - well worth railbirdiing.

Well I got to the Aviation during an eventful weekend (cancelled trains, missed Euostar, minor crash in a coach etc)
Sorry, tikay, Bruno wasn't there.
It was a thriving card room with lots going on, I walked into the middle of a tournament but they started another 3 table SnG but I was more interested in the cash games. There was a large selection on offer but not sure how many takers for the higher stakes ones, ie. the minimum 1000 euro buy in. I plumped for the 30 - 200 Euro, jobbie and had to wait for a fair while to sit down, one of the regulars wasn't going to wait in a queue behind a foriegner and almost broke his neck in an effort to sit down before the departing player had left his seat. The manager was going to chuck him off but I said he should let it ride as I didn't want a bad atmosphere at the table when I sat down, it's hard enough not speaking the lingo witout all that.
Anyway I sat down with my 200Euros of chips and was had a great time, I noticed that most of the people who came and sat down after were bringing the minimum buy in of 30 Euros, each time, which made me think it was a little soft, many had to cough up again and some just legged it after losing. The ones who joined with more than that were having better success. I was at the table for about 2 hours, got up, at one stage, to about 130 E profit but after an "interesting" hand where I got K high flush on the turn and another chap got his nut flush on the river I went down a bit. After giving the low denomination chips to the dealer I left with exactly 50 Euro profit. Not excessive but good fun.
Interesting point the blinds were both 2 Euros, no small blind.
I saw a couple of French players I recognied from the Tv but, sorry, I can't put names to faces, one, I think, had been on LNP.

I think that is the norm, whenever ive played Cash games in Casino/card rooms its been two 'same sized' blinds ie, £1 + £1, Or £2 + £2 as was in paris.

Before last Saturday I had only played in cash games, live and online which had BB and SB, I put it down to my inexperience.
Triple X, the Aviation's board said it was Pot Limit but it was No Limit when I got to the table.
As for tournaments have a look at this:
