I haven't highlighted the cards, coz they're irrelevant here.

On other sites I've played on, if you disconnect mid hand, & someone raises, they give you time to reconnect, & if you don't get back in time, your hand is mucked.

Here I saw what was going on, & stuck in a bet, expecting it to be the last action in the hand, so everyone else would get mucked, & I'd walk away with the pot.  Not very nice, maybe, but legitimate.

Is this new software, used by everyone now? Or is it unique to Stars?  Does this mean I'm going to have to start playing with decent cards ?

What a f***ing liberty !!

On pokerstars some tables have all-in protection and some don't, when you sit down at the table and choose your seat they grey box tells you whether the table has it or not.

If it has all in protection then it means if you disconnect during the hand then you will be treated as all in and will get to see the hand to its conclusion.

If it doesnt have all in protection then anyone who disconnects will have their cards folded and lose whatever money they have contributed to the pot.

you just have to decide which is the better table for you based on how good your internet connection is.

So basically, I robbed myself .

( leaves space for personal abuse )

I'm still at the stage where I lose most of my money because of my own stupidity.

How long before I can genuinely swear at the poker gods, or blame rigged software ?

Idiot !!!!

playing on a table with all in protection is good - but its open to abuse from players on the internet. You are playing a pot with  and the flop comes  three clubs, you think your opponent has  and there is $200 in the pot, all of a sudden he sticks in a monster $500 bet to push out the flush draws.

Oops, my cat has just pulled out the internet connection from the box on the wall - bad kitty!!!

Now i get to see whether i hit my fllush or not without having to risk an extra $500.................

That's what I like about this place.

You don't get tips like that in Sklanky's books

The question is, are you more dodgy & corrupt than anyone else out there.

I'm afraid to say that at the moment, I think I'd be abused, more frequently than I could/would want to abuse anyone else.

just took a look there is no all in protected tables on stars under 1/2 NLHE

also they normally only give you limited amount ot times that you can use it

if you over use it they will reset your all ins ONLY if they can tells aint been using it to cheat

If this table wasn't protected, does this mean I've been robbed of $2.25 ?

Should I be having words ?

No.

And tbh, I can just about afford to lose the $2.

But if the table hadn't suddenly gone doolallee, I woudn't have stuck in the bet.  So I'm asking for future reference.  If the same thing happens, & I have gone all in, can I argue in defense of my move ?

I mean, if I'd stuck in a $5 stealing bet, & he comes over the top for $10. I know I'm knacked, but he discons, along with half the table.  So  I reraise all in for $15 , & we all get timed out.  If that's on a 10c/20c table with no protection, I should pick up the money, shouldn't I ?

I've lost out when I've been disconned with the best hand before now, surely it shouldn't work both ways ?
