How about adding a Bad Beat catergory to our forum? each member can tell their bad beats stories and each time they do they can(optional) donate 50p to Poker4Charity via a Paypal donation link.

This is what I posted on another thread:

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=2131.msg54350#msg54350

However I maybe persuaded by the optional bit, let's see how the debate goes.

I dont like this idea

1 It encourages bad beat stories and we dont want em

2 some peeps can afford to tell 100 bb stories per day, some can't

3 how do we know who'se paid and who hasnt?

4 why wait until you have just lost your money before you donate to charity

How about this...

The forum is bad beat free, just like it initially was.

I agree, we have enough bad beats without sharing everyone else's, the idea for donations for charity are good, but stick to RED DOG blonde type sponsrship donations.

Just my opinion, not feeling very confident today, due to a bad beat ....................blah

I have been suggesting a "Bad Beat" section for several months now.

Purely for selfish reasons. So I don't have to read the damn things.

The charge (not donation!) should be at least £5, and double if it's dressed up as

A "how would you have played this hand....."  jobbie

usuall the trigger for me seeking advice and tips from other player is losing a hand I mis-played. I think there's a clear difference between Bad beats and strategy discussions but the odd bad beat story is ok as there's usually something to learn from them.

I agree with Adam too.

If members are seeking advice on where they went wrong or if they could have played it better, then I'm all up for it.

Although there may be problems with a fining system, how about starting off with a bad beat thread where people can have a moan. They get it off their chest, and those who don't care aren't forced to read it. Every1 wins. No fee applicable.

The point is Adam that if the hand that was "misplayed" started by being in front.

And then ended up being behind, it is a £10 minimum "Bad Beat" under my new guidelines.

I don't mind, as long as it's confined to the one thread

I've posted Bad Beats before but I clearly mark them BAD BEAT, DO NOT READ. if anyone then does so, they have themselves to blame. a genuine need for feed back is different, like the AJ I made the horrible call with last week. I think bad beat stories are ok as long as the poster is prepared to be told why it was actually their fault.

"So I'm in the BB with A2 suited and there's been a raise and a re-raise..."

or

"I'm first to speak and I have K,J. I raise to..."
