a) the privacy of those members displaying email addresses from unwanted spam
b) their protection in the light of episodes of bulk spamming eg "foxyamy"
c) protection of blonde's database from unauthorised corporate use by competitors/third parties

Err if you click on there names you can still see there profile with all email details

yes, but it requires hard graft for a spammer to get all the email addresses now (search one by one through 5400 members rather than have a list there for them)
and, by the by, we recommend email addresses are hidden in profiles anyway

If you're sending someone a PM, when you start typing their name in the address field - the system will attempt to select who you are trying to find. So, in effect you can search for their username in that. |

There is a "find members" feature next to the "to" field that can be used to find a member to pm.
