Now I have just arrived home after a 500mile round trip which was a waste of time.

My new employer asked me to come to the head office to train some Newbies and this was arranged weeks ago, and when I arrive at my hotrel I find my bookinbg was cancelled, I phoned The HR manager to find out whats happened to my hotel  booking, only for her to inform me that everything was cancelled!!!

The stupid Fekkers forgot to tell ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very unhappy and had to vent, sorry.

500 miles round trip? Don't worry about it, look at the lump sum you'll get for expenses! Grin

Well first of all it was a waste of 8 hours, second I could have spent that time with my family as we had the funeral for my grandmother today, thirdly its plain bad manners not to tell the guy who is doing work outwith his normal duties to assist with new starts that the course he was training had been cancelled!

Am I worse off?, you Bet i am, I am unable to do anything productive with those lost hours!

I'd be p1ssed because its pretty basic HR to tell the trainer the trainings cancelled.

My wife is a training professional and, its not just the travel its the preperation, assesment and the getting focused (she still get a little nervous training small concentrated groups), its more than 8 hours lost.

Also if HR can't get this right wtf are they doing with the rest of your well being?
