I've read the PaddyPower Irish open expects to be the biggest tournament in Europe to date, expecting six or seven hundred runners.

If it makes it, whose record will it break? To date, what has been the largest live tournament in Europe (in terms of field size) and how many runners did it have?

I would have thought that this weeks EPT Grand Final is the biggest thus far, in terms of number of players & prize money.

The Paddy Power Irish Open may well get more runners, though not as big a Prize Pool.

It is, however, the biggest Guaranteed Prize Pool I can recall in Europe - €2,000,000! Bring it on, Dublin.
