Unfortunately, this is standard practice at the G casino in Manchester. I spend quite a few weeknights staying in Hotels in Manchester, and decided the tourneys there would be a good way to pass the lonely evenings (only so much trumpet polishing one can cope with

)
The first night I turned up, I was sworn at by the guy on the registration desk after I asked whether the tourney was pot limit or no limit. Asked for another £20 as I sat down at the table, because they 'had decided to change the buy in'. Then ended up with a house dealer that didn't know how the game worked (He didn't seem to realise that a flush beats a straight).
I gave it 3 more chances, thinking that it might just be a bad night, but it just got worse. I tried to talk to the cardroom manager, but was told that he was the manager, not me, and he could do what he liked. After a bit more colourful language I decided to give up, and never went back. Strangely, attendances seemed to be dropping every week in the month that I was there, and it wouldn't surprise me if they barely got anyone now.
I hope they bring in external organisers for the GUKPT, or they could be in trouble.....
