Tomorrow (today) night im playing in a live game.

Last (4th) live game I played was the last Blonde Bash..in fact it was the last time I went out without the kids!!!

Im so excited...I know it sounds sad but I am sooooooo looking forward to it.

Matt Dale (Mango99) has organized a local charity game with all proceeds going to some poker player running a marathon...not sure if I can mention his name.

Just wanted to say a big well done to Matt....if I flash my trip do you think he will fold??

Good Luck Suzanne, & remember, above all - enjoy it. Bad Beats & suckouts notwithstanding, Live Poker is as good as it gets.

I know...I promised myself after last BB that I would play more live games and it never happened.

I will be there to enjoy the game and try not to freeze up as I have done in the past.

I am going to try to study the players and look for tells which ive been too nervous to do up till now and play as I would online.

2 live games in 1 month...do or die time :-)

Ive actually chewed my nails to the bone im so nervous.

I worked in a pub a few years back and there was this guy called Rob who was in his 50s and he was a pot/cellarman. He never said boo to a goose and was the nicest bloke you could ever meet. The pub was mostly busy but in the quiet periods I used to look forward to chatting to him as he was such a genuinely nice guy. He did several jobs as his exwife was screwing him for every penny but his main job was a taxi driver.

One night I ordered a taxi and he was the driver and he was like a totally different person...he was aggressive and down right nasty to other drivers on the road..I was totally shocked!!

I can do nasty/aggressive ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRR :-)

Good luck Suzanne. have a ball and enjoy yourself. thats the main thing to remeber and who knows you might even walk away with some winnings.

put your nervous energy into something less destructive than biting your nails down to the bone. what about asking tikay for some knitting advice Wink

win win win

Well I had a GREAT time. Met lots of new people and was able to put faces to forum names which is nice.

I didnt fair too well in the comp though unfortunatly. I managed to double my stack by the first break and was feeling more confident and decided to loosen up a bit as the table was fairly tight (apart from Matt Dale lol), unfortunatly nothing was hitting the board, I raised and was reraised preflop with QQ and had to lay down to a flop of AK?, my 99 was beaten by TT, my suited connectors didnt connect and any attempt to steal the pot was reraised. I went alarmingly quickly from being comfortable to shortstack and was moved to the table of death. Allin with A9s was called by QT who hit and I was off to the bar.

Played an stt and bubbled...last hand shortstack (again) and on SB I decided before seeing the cards I was going allin, UTG goes allin, I have 89 and stick my chips in, BB has us both covered and calls with KK, UTG is rolling about laughing and turns over 72...guess who won!!   yep..it doesnt only happen online, 72 hit a straight

I then went onto a cash game with Nick Wright, Dan Carter (pros woohoo) and a very drunk Woody (some of you might remember him from BB4) to name a few and managed to win back enough to cover the cost of the evening. I did feel rather bad when I reraised a young chap putting him allin with my 99 and busted his aces with a flush though.

Meanwhile, a very nice Aussie lady who I had contacted through Matts forum and who had kindly offered me a lift was doing very well in the comp. In the second break she had been chatting to Matt and was trying to get him to sponser her into the European Ladies Cup, he said if she won the comp he would, fully expecting her not to win as he later admitted and she WON!!! So GOOD LUCK to Robyn   Im sure Matt is hoping the same  Grin

All in all a very enjoyable evening, made new friends, had fun and won a signed piccy of the Hendon Mob in the raffle woohooooo and it didnt cost me a penny.
