Right, i'm not much of a better.  In fact I hardly ever place bets, but for the Irish Open this year I decided to have a punt on 3 people to make the final.  I put £40 in Paddy Power and looked down the long list and decided to pick 3 @ £10 each.  My choices were:

Praz Bansi
Stuart Fox (foxy)
Paul Foltyn (pab)

A complete mess up.  Praz went out in under 2 hours, Stuart wasn't evening playing and Pab was a few thousand miles away.  Well I least i got my money back from the 2 bets and gave up my betting career there and then!!

Today, a mate rings up and tips me about a horse in the Grand National.  So I remember I got some scraps in Paddy Power so decide to give it a bash with my £30 quid.  I couldnt remember my details though so I had to ring them up.  The guy gave me my username and asked me to log in while he was on the phone, so I logged in and the balance showed up immediately.  I spat my tea all over the screen, as the balance read £680   WHAT!!!! Paddy Power asks if im alright and I mumbled yes, thanked him and put the phone down!

On looking at the history and seeing how they had managed to tease me with 600 odd quid, I see a bet was paid out.  PAUL FOLTYN finalled and paid out 66-1.       Little did I know there is another Paul Foltyn who isn't PAB who made me money!  Nice one, and thank you Grand National and mates who make you bet.

yeah but be honest, when you first saw your balance you thought they'd made a ric and you wanted to cash the dough in before they noticed their mistake, that's why you put the phone down quickly Roll Eyes

It's what i would've done!!!

I'll be honest with you I dont know what I would have done.  Like to think I would have told them if it was a mistake because they will find out in the end anyway, but who knows.  I was in shock, I wanted to get off and find out what the hell happened.  I knew you could look at bet history so I went straight there and saw they paid out one of my bets.  No mistake - just my flukey one!!!

Well I dont know Paul Foltyn but ill get PAb a drink next time I see him for not being in Ireland and scuppering my chances.
