ok did you finalise the buring to the disc?

or is it just a phantom waiting to be burnt?

if its a phantom you will see the files on the computer you made the file but not on any other pc

there should bea button on the left hand panel (when you open the disc) that says something like burn these files now

Dvd players aren't usually capable of playing movies burned to cd.
Try burning it to a dvd-r disc instead of cd-r.

you have probably downloaded a avi or divx file, which will play the movie fine on your computer, but most DVD players wont.

A proper DVD movie disc has ISO files on it, you need some piece of software which can convert from AVI to ISO, then burn these files to the disc.

google is your friend.

downloaded a converter but its no 5 minute job, goes through the film in real time changing each scene
4 hour film four hour conversion.

and does it request another disc when its half way through, as the film is longer than the disc space

yup, that sounds about right.

if you are at all bothered about quality you should make sure the 2-pass conversion is switched on.
