Nottingham would obviously be a good location for DTD, however I would possibly suggest being somewhere slightly nearer to London to allow you the freedom of being within easy reach of either, especially London for air travel. Be aware that the nearer to London you live the more expensive it will be. With apologies to anyone from Milton Keynes, the place looks like a concrete jungle but it would be ideal in location being about halfway between London & Nottingham, don't ask me house prices cos I ain't got a clue I was thinking more in terms of geography lol. I'm sure grandad, oops Tikay, would introduce you to the delights of British Snail or whatever they call themselves these days so a car is not so much of a necessity. As for golf I ain't got a clue but 2 certain uk individuals might be worried about a hustle so please declare you correct handicap. I doubt if this helps much but GL all the same.

The Midlands is, imo, better, served as it is by excellent Airports at East Mids & Birmingham, even Coventry.
The problem with the "halfway to London" idea is Luton Airport - truly & undoubtedly, the world''s worst Airport, in every single respect, by a country mile..

The reason I brought up being close to DTD is I will assume there will be more poker there on a daily basis than almost any where else. I was not impressed at all w/ the Vic in London, the casino in Birmingham was nice!!!!!!!!
I guess it would be nice to be a short taxi ride from a place I can play everyday, then when I need to travel I will need a train, a plane, or maybe a CUPCAKE!!!!

Living in North London I personally find Luton Airport to be ideal for short haul cheapo flights, parking is a lot cheaper than Heathrow or Gatwick and it only takes me 20 minutes to drive there. As for the interior of the airport and services available I'm not too fussed as i use an airport purely as a gateway to go somewhere else.

Parking is probasbly dearer, after you've taken into account the time it takes to get through the Queues at Luton "Airport", especially at the East Jet Desk. They had ONE check-in Desk serving THREE flights there when I flew to Nice a few weeks back, & I queued non-stop for 4 hours in different queues.
Never again. East Mids or Birmingham, turn up & fly, simple, & the Budget airlines are well represented there too.

I'e had no experience of East Mids or Brum airport but judging by what you say re the budget airlines it sounds ok. I did however forget to mention the roadworks currently on the M1 which means travelling by car from London to Luton takes quite a bit longer presently. I was just thinking in terms of geography & location for Brian to try and give him the best of both worlds for sightseeing poker and travel.

So how about a quick lesson on the cardrooms around there!!!! Here is what I already know:
1) Vic London / u can have it
2) DTD / expected to be big
3) Birmingham / nice place, do they have any action
When I am in Vegas there are 10-20 comps a day at different casinos from $20- $1,000, cash games all over from 2-3 NL to what ever u want............................. what do i expect over there on average and will I be able to play 40-60 hours a week live!!!!!!!
Or is it a traveling thing where u have to go to a different place everynight to catch the bigger games or comps???

Geographically, The East Mids is central to all the UK action Brian. Plenty of action in Birmingham & Walsall, Luton is 90 mins down the road, Stoke 45 mins, Sheffield half an hour, DTD & Gala Notts 5 minutes.
