So how about a quick lesson on the cardrooms around there!!!! Here is what I already know:

1) Vic London / u can have it
2) DTD / expected to be big
3) Birmingham / nice place, do they have any action

When I am in Vegas there are 10-20 comps a day at different casinos from $20- $1,000, cash games all over from 2-3 NL to what ever u want.............................  what do i expect over there on average and will I be able to play 40-60 hours a week live!!!!!!!

Or is it a traveling thing where u have to go to a different place everynight to catch the bigger games or comps???

But as to travelling around, well, Britain is not Vegas. Thank God.

With apologies to anyone from Milton Keynes, the place looks like a concrete jungle but it would be ideal in location being about halfway between London & Nottingham

You're having a laugh if you think MK is a concrete jungle, though it's a popular misconception, usually repeated by people who have never been here, or only come for the shopping.   MK has 28 parks  (not including swing parks )) covering 4500 acres with 20 million trees I'll have you know!

If you actually mean anywhere in Europe, you should try Vienna.  Easy to get to all the EPTs, great local cardroom in the Concorde and one of the safest cities in Europe.

There is a possibility that I will move to Europe in August of 2007 after the finish on the 2007 WSOP. The question I have is where would I live and why?Huh?  Here are some of the questions that need to be answered, I plan to be in Europe for one year:

1) Travel / I will be playing all EPT and all major comps, I need good transportation
2) Poker / I would think that being close to DTD would make sense
3) Cost / What is the difference between, say, London or Nottingham
4) Car / Would I need one or would I hire CUPCAKE as my fulltime driver
5) Things to do / I want to play golf, sight see, have some fun other than poker
6) Friends & poker players / Where do most poker players live

Ant thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

1) The Midlands has good road, train, & most importantly, Rail Links, to all of Europe.

2) DTD is in Nottingham, in the Midlands.

3) The East Midlands (Derby & Notts) is the cheapest place in Britain to live as to House Prices. About one third of those in London.

4) Nope, you are a crazy yank driver, don't bother with a car.

5) The Midlands has Britain's best selection & varietty of Golf Courses. But be warned, we have hills......The best countryside, the Peak National Park is just up the road. Nice train stations, too.

6) Thewy lives in nearby Notts, DC 45 mins away in Birmingham, Mr Cool ditto, Maria 30 mins away in Grantham, I'm in Derbyshire. Are there other top players, I think thats all of them?

Get yer fat arse over here. Nice to hear from you yesterday, by the way.

Can you just specify the bold bit as the best countryside in england. Wales has the most beautiful countryside in the uk!  Wink

The cost of living seems to me to be very high and getting higher in this country compared to the US.

Doesn't help the fact that the current exchange rate is $150-£1!! Cheesy

The reason I brought up being close to DTD is I will assume there will be more poker there on a daily basis than almost any where else. I was not impressed at all w/ the Vic in London, the casino in Birmingham was nice!!!!!!!!

I guess it would be nice to be a short taxi ride from a place I can play everyday, then when I need to travel I will need a train, a plane, or maybe a CUPCAKE!!!!

I'd go for Birmingham or Nottingham.  45mins from me :0)

Nottingham and Birmingham have good airports although Birmingham is more commercial than Nottingham. Nottingham is more for charter flights to malaga, mallorca, spain etc but has others aswell

Poker rooms are very friendly up here in gods country Smiley

Thats more like it mate.....you will love it over here. As for location I think the Midlands would be perfect for you, as many have said you will have easy access to most places from around there and have many friends within a few hours at most.

The cost in London is truly ridiculous when you compere what you have for your dosh against what you could have in say Tikays manor.

I can just see John in suit and hat driving you around so yes, Cupcake for transport but beware he might be expensive as you know how much London cabbies make Cheesy

The Midlands has loads of golf and Soccer teams and you would only be 1 hour away from Sheffield where you can take Sheff Utd as your adopted UK football team.

good luck mate
