these kind of emails are known as 419 scams, id hand it over to the guy who runs 419eater.com, basically he goes round searching for the people who are trying to scam us honest folk, and basically plays along with there scams but terrorises them gradually wasting there time, and in some cases ive read he actually turns the tables and ends up scamming the original scammers out of there own money lmao, which he then donates to charity, check the site out some hilarious out comes to some, and to others he sometimes recieves deaththreats via phone conversations which he takes on the chin and basically uses it to wind them up some more.

That 419eater website is HILARIOUS. The one example of their work I read had me laughing out loud - particularly the bit where they got the Nigerian scammer to create a video of the Monty Python parrot sketch.

If the mods will allow it, this is the link http://www.419eater.com/html/bigman.htm

But be warned, you will need a coffee and a spare 20 minutes or so.

You did better than me, Maureen, I only got €500, this was yesterday I think.

Congratulations Tony,

You have been randomly selected to receive a $500 e-check to be redeemed in the next 24 hours.

I am thrilled to bring you this official notice which confirms The Write-a-Check Committee's certification of Tony as a guaranteed eligible candidate. This is not in error. If you submit the winning check in accordance with the official rules of Write-a-Check you are guaranteed a prize award.

Even now, Tony, you probably thought this could never happen, that you could become A WRITE-A-CHECK WINNER. But it's absolutely true: ALL Prizes won in the WRITE-A-CHECK RANDOM SWEEPSTAKES are 100% GUARANTEED to be redeemable by the confirmed winners.

Congratulations and be sure to redeem this check before the 24 hours is up, otherwise the next eligible candidate will be contacted.

Regards,
John Dawson & The Write-A-Check Committee
