Having deposited some money ahead of the Blonde tourney on Titan, i thought i would play a $10 SNG.

Even though i came 2nd which was good and the standard was pretty poor, i have to say that there structure is the worst i have ever seen.

1000 chips (which i am not a fan of), 10 players (which is fine) but a 7 min clock!!!  By the time we had got to level 4 (50-100 i think) we still had 7 left and had played a grand total of 21 hands, so effectively each level for the first half of the game is seeing 5 hands a level.  This is not poker its a lottery.  There is no room for skill, 25 mins in its either push or fold.  And i thought Party Poker and there 10 hand structure on 1k chips was harsh!!

Give me Pokerstars and their 10 min level structure and starting chips of 1500any day, even if the opponents are tougher.  Even pokerroom with 1500 chips and 10 hand levels but at least looser players is much better

So, what do i do?  The site has got poor players but there really is no skill in their structure, but it could be profiitable!

FWIW, speakingto a couple of the guys on the table the ring games there are meant to be very profitable (esp the Limit ones).

Anyone else had any experiences at Titan?

I played a couple of SNGs last night as well. I came 2nd both times, and I agree, the standard is poor. I thought the structure was OK, for me it's the right mix of stack/blind ratio without having to devote over an hour for a game. I find that on Stars with the 10 min structure games can last an age at times. There are so many poor players and maniacs in these that if you sit tight and wait for the big hands to come you will get paid off. Usually a big pay off from one or two key hands is easily enough to cruise me into the money. Sure, sometimes the big hands won't come in time, but I think the key to SNG play is to look at it as a long term affair, the results of each individual tourney aren't that significant, but if you look at results over a larger number you will see positive results and Titan/Noble is as good a place as any (at least for the time being) to take advantage of this. Plus they have the jackpot SNG tourneys which if you find you can consistently place highly could be very profitable...

Thanks a lot for all your input Triple X keep it coming.

There are all kind of markets for online poker 95% of the players that play online poker are poor most players on Titan poker are very poor and this site is for players that just want to have fun,  but the structure is a crap shoot if you are a pro. I am pretty sure though if you play good and get the bonus that Titanpoker will be a site that you can make money on.

I played about 1500 * $1000 sit & goes on partypoker and I played about 20 on stars. To me to play on stars is not an optio, the games are tough very few of the pros that I know  win on stars, they do not offer any deposit bonus so that you can get at least a part of your rake back. To me pokerstars is only for big multitable tournaments live the WCOOP. I do not play on Titan poker as the games are too small but I know that several of my friends do play ther and do pretty good. Anyway for the free roll we are still short of players so if you guys want it to happen please sign up via www.blondepoker.com the banner is on the home page.

Thanks Tony G - you really do sound like a top bloke - I always knew that table image was all an act!!!

Interesting what you say. I do find Stars particularly tough but am attracted to their sructure.  the problem is that i started playing SNG's 2+ yrs ago when the standard of play was poor and you could wait for the premium hands be sensible and everyone else will busts themselves out, even the early chip leaders.  I made a good living on Pokerroom doing this

However, in the last 9 months there has been a real change, mainly i am convinced due to the SNG section on 2+2.  The games are now amazingly tighter and you can get to level 6 and still have a pretty full table which means you seriously have to mix your game up as you can no longer just wait and wait for a premium hand like you used to.

The problem with Stars and Titan and the others with only 1k starting chips, is what kind of clever play can you make with 900 chips and blinds at 75-150 with a full table.  Its a risky game.

I have yet to find these days a site where the structure is good a la Stars and VC but the players are fishy (a la Titan - incidentally even party thanks to Alan Macgoenus (or whatever his name is on 2+2) is no longer fishy).

Is anyone still making a really good ROI on SNG's?  If so do they prefer the better structure and tougher opponents on Stars where they can be creative but there is no doubting its a tough game or the Titan style format where it is a massive lottery but at least you still have players committing suicide so if you do hit the hands in the first half hour and do nothing silly you should get ITM.

Thanks Ian, Tony, Triple X & everyone Else. It's catching up day for tikay today (yeah, it's catching up day EVERY day for me it seems) but I will be telling you my take on Titan later today, & giving you the SP on Tony G's involvement in blonde.

Ian (ifm) - do you have my Moby Number? If so, please call me, I need to discuss summat with you. I'll send you a PM - when I get round to it, but you know me - don't hold your breath......

I find the turbo's on Stars quite rewarding. Only 5 min levels but they are much easier than the other stars STT's. I think the better players tend to avoid them because of the 'Turbo' Aspect this means there is a much higher percentage of bad players on them.
