There is no doubt that the weekend of the Sporting Odds.com London Poker Masters is (to Date) the best moment of my life.

At the start of the week the thought of entering the main event never really crossed my mind, and even if i wanted to i could not afford the £500 + 30 it was going to cost me.

This is how the week paned out.

MONDAY

Mate wins £500 and we decide to give the tuesday Super Satallite to the main event a crack.

TUESDAY

To cut a long story short I get in for £60 (no re-buy just an add-on), adn he bubbles. 1 out of 2 is pretty good, and £60 is about as cheap as you can get in for. I agree to give him a 10% of any winnings.

WEDNESDAY

Friend plays the £150 NL Hold'em comp, with I have 10% of. NO GOOD!! He is rivered for a 2 outer, NICE!!

THURSDAY

Think about the Main event.

FRIDAY

Decide that an early night is in order and end up playing online poker until 4am!!! Win $500 so pretty happy.

SATURDAY

Watch the first half of West ham Sunderland and leave for Gutshots with the hump!!! Arrive to find out they robbed a draw so happy at the start of the comp.

Drawn on the same table as Garry Bush and TK.

I start nicely and am sitting with about 9k after an hour. Then it all went wrong. First I flop 2 pair with Q9 on a Q910 board, bet the flop and get called. J on the turn, not good!! Check check and a rag on the river. I bet out again for some stupid reason and am raise in about 0.1 seconds. I fold, down to about 5k. Second i bluff the flop in a family pot and am re-raised back. I fold, down to 3.5k. Its all going wrong and i have about 1.2k left at the first break.

After the break I get very lucky.......TWICE!!

J10 suited, flop A 10 rag, I bet half my stack and am re-raised all-in. I can't pass even though i know he has the Ace so I call for my last 550. He turns over an Ace and I spike a Jack on the river!!! Up to about 2.5k.

I nick 500 in another pot then this. I have A6, me and TK, flop A52, he bets 500 I raise all-in and am called, he flips over A5 (%*&"). Turn....................6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I double up 6k, back in the game.

Soon after I get my now 8-9k all-in with QQ vs 88 and double up.

Hours later I am on about 30k on the BB. Guy one off the button moves all-in for 13k (I think he is steaming because I raises him all in with 1010 a couple of hands earlier. It is fold round to me and I look down at my cards. AA THANK YOU!!!! I flop a set, he turns a flush draw!!! There are about 10 of his mate in the background SHOUTING DIAMOND COME ON DIAMOND, he misses, and I house up.

End of the day 59k, its 7am, knackered, but excited.

SUNDAY

Early on before a blind has even gone though he I find KK, TK raises to 20k more I re-raise 20k and he pushes, I call, and Double up. 118k

Players are going out regularly and I go to the final 9 TV table with 138k a good stack.

Down to 8 I have J10clubs in the BB for 16k. Willy Tann moves all for 39k UTG and I have the value to call with any 2 cards. He flips over AJ and the flop comes 89Q, NUTS!!!!!!!!!!! Willy is out.

After this things could not have gone better, many times there is a raise in front of me and I look down at AK, KK, QQ, and JJ, I raise back and don't get action once.

The biggest hand of the comp for my is as follows. UTG Dominic Tofani raises and I find QQ in the SB, I raise all-in and he calls for his final 105k with KQsuited, A bad call IMAO, I get 1k back, and this is it s**t or Bust. No help on the board and I double up.

I knock out Matt Berger some after by getting lucky and hitting a flush on the turn. I played this hand badly, probably my only real mistake for about 15 hours of play.

Jim McShane finishes 4th and was the player who impressed my the mosted at the table, he lost with A2 vs Q8, 8 on the flop.

Tom Christmas moves in with 1010 and is very unlucky that TK finds JJ in the BB.

HEADS UP!!!!

I play the best heads up of my life, at one stage winning about 8 hands in a row, never with a very strong hand.

THE FINAL HAND

Blinds 15-30k, I raise for 30 more and am called, Flop J 2 8. I check and TK moves all in. I have him well covered think for a minute and call. He face drops, and he flips over J3. No help on the turn and river and I am THE LPM Champion.

I then give a shocking interview to Barry, I was just to excited to talk to be honest.

And that was that, the most unreal weekend of my life is over, I was so happy I can't explain how much. THe buzz of winning is like no other i have ever known.

I would like to thank everybody who congratulated me after (over 100 people much have come and said well done), I am by no means a real regular at Gutshots but was made to feel like one after, Thanks. Also the dealers, I was knackered after 20 hours play so god knows how the dealers felt.

If this weekend proofs anything it is NEVER give up. I was down to 1.2k after 2 hours and end up the the winner.

Thanks once again

John Curtis.

I don't wanna keep blowing smoke up John's backside, but I have to mention the deal we did. I was not fussed about doing business, but it was gonna be done, so hey, I'll go along with it.

John had (all approx) 450k, I had 350k, & Tom 310k. It was (approx) £26,xxx to the winner, £16k & £11k. John says, right off "I want £20K". Tom & I quickly say, "fine, we will split the rest down the middle". No raised voices, no arguing, no "I want more", it was done & dusted in seconds. A big up to John for that.
