Hi folks, with WPT being forced to pull, we're not too sure what to expect from this year's Grand Prix de Paris. Tiny field? A day's play removed? Any big names?... so it's going to be interesting to find out.

Word on the street is that even though it's still a chunky 10k buy-in, the Scandies will be there in full force due to the value and the general consensus, which even French blogger Bnejo (I've mixed up the letters of his name to protect his identity) has subscribed to, that the French are one of the worst pokering nations in Europe. Blimey, wish I had 10 grand now!

Either way, your DTD sponsored blonde update team will be there at ringside to follow the action, come wind, rain or snow.

Bad news...

I'll be on my tod for Day 1

Good news...

That's because Jen's made the final of the Ladbrokes Ladie's Open with 15k and a Poker Million seat up for grabs.

Good luck to Jen and good luck to me in hoping that the Grand Prix de Paris is still starting at 4pm (3pm UK time) as advertised.

Either way, I'll be there, would be cool if you could join me. Ta ta for now.

It's weird, for some reason, none of the people who live there have even heard of it. I remember once asking some local if he could point me in the direction of the Aviation Club and he looked at me as if I had milk on my lips. A few seconds later, I turned round to see that it was right behind me!

Well, I'm not too sure about the people as I only really talk to the people within the casino vacinity, but aesthetically Paris is pretty nice. Plus, Disneyland's just round the corner and Dana and I are popping in next Saturday before I head back down the ol tunnel.

Not sure if Dave's playing this one, Brian. The lack of TV coverage will undoubtedly lose us some of the big names, especially the Americans, but I'm hoping we have a repeat of Poland where everyone popped down anyway. The only deterrent could be the 10k buy-in fee, but then again, as I said in my initial post, there's sure to be some +ev value in this one...

My "game" has always been changing, I tried to play like the other "pros" and it really did not work for me! It is a great question and I really struggled in 2006 w/ finding my own style and improving on it. Experience is the best thing for me and I have learned to "change gears" as they say. I have had some big chip stacks in a few comps and lost them unnecessarily. Now I think I am back to me original playing style w/ just a few tweaks and improvements. I will answer the question again after the 2007 WSOP! I do plan to win my 2nd bracelet and then I can evaluate my playing style w/ another big payday.

I think it is very important to always evaluate how u r playing. Don't evaluate it w/ results, results will very and winning a comp does not mean u played your best poker Grin

I thought DC was there, oh well!  You should get a bunch of the 18-20 year old American "kids" over there (cant play in the US until they are 21). Have fun w/ them, send them to bed before midnight or you may have your hands full!!!!!

Well, it looks as though the lack of TV cameras haven't scared off the Colclough custom, as he's 100% present and raring to go. Accompanying El Blondie today is his addict in training, Mr Goodwin, who is his usual bubbly self whilst Dave looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Word on the Benjovine is that we have at least 120 players registered (which isn't bad considering it's a 10k event without WPT cameras) - 60 today and 60 tomorrow with satellites still being played out as we speak.

BREAKING NEWS

A comp has started on time!!!

An incredible feat that caught Tony Cascarino completely guard.

"Where's the touramented," he asked. "Have they started? I though it was a 4pm start."

Preparation is key and the players really have their eye on the ball today.
