Sambuca showdown!!

I was playing in a small cash game in my local pub, the cards had been dealt and 2 players were left in the pot, the first player to act on the river bets and then before the other player has a chance to call, fold or raise the first player throws a tip to the dealer, the dealler asks "what its for?" and the player replies "its a tip for dealing me the winning hand".  The second player protests "but i haven't even called" and the first player replies "Oh sorry thought you had". My question is ...is the player who throws the tip out of over or is this acceptable??

I have been trying to improve my game and i'm pretty poor at understanding what these verbal signals, last night I was playing a small comp and this fella managed to get me to call when he had the best possible hand just by confusing me (and thats not hard!) Should i just switch off to everything I hear??

I'd just try and play the cards for now, forget the people.  Try not to give anything away yourself but don't worry to what others are saying.

for someone playing such a short time you're certainly asking the right questions...

Not a big fan of it myself. I think it should be banned for dealers. I'm sure somewhere it's going hand in hand with bottom dealing and I can't be bothered keeping one eye open for it.
Especially to waitresses also. I mean, You buy two drinks for £4.50, she carts them to you, you leave the 50p change, fair enough.
But if you enter 11 small comps at £10 buy in, on the tenth you win £100 by coming 4th, is it really fair that someone basically takes £10 out of your hand as with everyone else who cashes, for 'the staff'?? £100 total tip. % of total medium term live profit to tips......100%. If people want to tip, let them tip. It shouldn't be demanded from them in a way that refusal would embarass them.
But I guess that's another thread entirely.

But where were we....ah yes, care free flirtation!!!!!!! Smiley Smiley
