I am in the Hotel California lobby and many of the players have come back here ... on their dinner break

Is there a big sign saying Welcome to Hotel California?

Is it a lovely place?

wow, and to think I didnt write that one ( or did I, just ask REDDOG)

Ram Vaswani is now on 65k and the probable chip leader after winning a huge pot off Jean Paul Pasqualini, eliminating him in the process.

When I joined, the cards were on the back and the had been dealt out, Ram scooping the lot with versus .

It looks like Jonathan Fhal is now out, and the internet crashed pre-dinner break before I could relate this hand - a stage in his demise:

A board of three clubs and Daniel Smits checked...Jonathan bet 4,200 - leaving himself just over 5k behind.  Daniel moved all-in, covering him by a good margin.  This was clearly not what he'd had in mind...a mutter of "putain!" and some of the angriest chip riffling I have ever seen later and he passed, giving the 7k+ pot to the young Danish player and now his seat is empty.

Blinds are still just 100/200 ante 25...

Mark Teltscher seems to be having a torrid time. He's still in touch with 15k, but he seems exceedingly frustrated today, banging his chips a little, gurning and whatnot.

I think he must have folded a big hand off Eric Larchveque because he keeps asking if he had a full house in a prior hand.

"How did you get in here looking like that," asks Ramzi Jelassi pointing to my Back To The Future T-Shirt.

Well, I guess I know people in high places. Either that or I was wearing my jacket when I came in.

Flop = two spades

Eric Cajelais bets out 1.5k, but Patrick Schull makes it 3k and takes it down.

We went from 68 to 40 last night.

Any blondeites fancy guessing what we'll end up with tonight? 56 at the moment, started with 71.

Any bids? There's a prize in it for you if you get it spot on...

Sorel Mizzi is doing well (again).  He just got involved in a pot with right-hand-side neighbour Patrick Schnell, who looked like he might have called a raise from Sorel on the small blind.  This would mean the raise had come from under the gun... I am not going to swear they weren't big blind/small blind, however, might just ask in the break.

Anyway, the flop they saw was:  Two Clubs , with a three clubs coming on the turn.  At this point there was already around 10k in the pot (wish I caught the beginning of some of these big pots - but to do that you've just got to get lucky and decide to make notes on a hand before it's even gotten interesting...).  Patrick checked the turn to Sorel, who bet 5k.  Call.
River:    Patrick checked again, Sorel bet 13k.  A think through later, and he got a call - he showed the , value betting that river which made the board less than comfortable for the straight, and getting paid off anyway by a hand Patrick mucked with obvious displeasure, table bang and everything.  I have noticed that the table-smack usually comes in the UK when someone with less than perfect self-control has performed a particularly lucky beat on someone else, or had a hand hold up in circumstances so tense they can't control their arm.  But here it seems to mainly be a response to frustration with an unfavourable outcome.

Pictured:  Patrick Schnell in yellow next to Sorel Mizzi.

43.  That's what it'll be.  That way they'll have to colonise the hallway by just one table.
