flat call. options are left open, stack size maintained and it looks stronger.

I flat call and re-evaluate on the turn. Few players will lead with an ace here (tho imo it is correct to do so) but by flat calling it achieves a few things. It doesn't blow hands like kq,qj etc off the hand when we make get a value bet in on later streets. It keeps the pot smaller and are options open if we are beat.

I did call.

Then he checked the turn.  That also confused me.

So I checked too.

Then he made a 3200 bet on the river.  I called.  He had A9.  Didn't lose too much all things considered, could have been worse.

He was truly awful throughout the tournament though, and this helped him here.  I really had no clue as to what he had, and I'm not sure he did either.  Later he called a big bet with 88 on a AKx board, and outdrew AK with his 8 on the river (not against me), citing 'pot odds' as his reason...

It just got me thinking as to the best way to play KK on that board - how scared of an ace should I be, if I think I'm ahead do I lead out or raise to a bet?  Or do I just look to minimise losses and move on?
