Just been onto Simon's website after thinking it had been quiet for a while.
His step father was diagnosed with cancer and passed away very soon after.
My thoughts are with Aces, as Im sure the rest of the forum is

Simon is a class act who has been dealt one beat too many recently IMO.
His diaries will be up to date and on his site as soon as he has written them.

Simon, this is something that most of us have to go through during our lifetime, you need to remember the good times, and be positive, allthough you might feel like it's the end of the world at the moment, you will come back stronger than ever. Time will prove this..
Our thoughts are with you.

My thoughts are with you Simon,
My Father died in, similar circumstances, in July.
For the first time in my life I realised, there really is nothing anyone can say that makes it better.
I stayed strong for my Mother, Sister and my Dad's sister till after the funeral then I completely fell to peaces!!!
The one peace of advice I could ever give anyone, is allow yourself to grieve, cry and be cared for.
Remember you have a lot of people thinking of you
Take Care Simon

I echo everyone's sentiments, but Delboys in particular, I would have chosen exactly those words had I been able.

I don't know what to say here, I think everyone else has said it so much better than I ever could. My thoughts are with you.

It took me over a year and lots of tablets from the quack to get over my Dad passing away. I hope you are stronger than me, but it really does get easier with time even if it's years.
My sympathies,
Steve

Thanks Guys
As my mum and Millar first lived in Scotland and finally settled in Keighley Yorkshire to be near my sister to be honest i didn't see much of them ( my dad lives 3 miles away from me in Guildford and i only see him twice a year , terrible i know ) , in fact it wasn't until Millar was diagnosed that i realised how fond of him i had become . When i visited him for the last time i jokingly told him that it was only after ten years that i started to like him and considered it more than a fling , this caused him much laughter , however when i then said thanks for looking after my mum for 22 years i couldn't help but get choked up and he reached over and held my hand and asked me to look after her when he was gone , i am not ashamed to say we were both in tears and it will stay with me forvever .
The timing of the funeral coincided with Baden and i missed it but felt i had said my goodbyes , my dad went as he introduced Millar to my mum all those years ago and they used to play snooker and go fishing together , he rang me to say how proud he was of my son Ben who had read out a poem and i said " don't tell me , you rang to say we should make an effort to see more of each other the same as you did when gran died ? " He said yes , and you know something this time i think we will .
Thanks for all your kind words , i know where i belong now

I lost my father 6 years ago and his last words to anyone were "look after your mum" when I visited him for the last time. Not a day passes I don't think about him and I know how bad you will be feeling now. My thoughts are with you simon.
