Foreign Languages on Playtech...
«

Most of the poker sites I've played on have an english only policy at the tables.
Could someone from blonde confirm if this rule applies to playtech or not...?
I know it sounds a bit xenophobic but my gcse spanish and french just isn't cutting it and the only italian words i know are pizza, mama mia and golazzzzio and it's hard to tap the aquarium with this limited vocabulary
I'm getting tired of copying and pasting into babelfish....please Help!

Outside of a blonde only comp, I don't think I've seen any table chat which hasn't been in French.
Rather than be annoyed, whenever I see it I think 'Ooh, French players'

Playtech does indeed have an "English only to be spoken at the tables" rule, if you experience problems with the chat facility, use the online support button found at the bottom middle of your lobby screen and report it.

I reported two players for speaking foreign, it seemed to me they were sharing info. Support asked for my username, screen name, the players names, table id, hand numbers, and then said "Sorry, not our players. We will pass it on"

Support forward the details to Playtech, Playtech then informs whichever skin they are playing on. the players involved are given a reminder of the rules, and told that any further incidences will result in their chat privileges being withdrawn.

In some of the Blonde-only tournies it's difficult to know if people are typing in English or another language half the time.

Yes, I've seen this flash up a few times in tournaments. It also says that the table is being monitored. Whether the players concerned can understand the warning may be another question though...
In general I think there's very little to worry about here. Especially if you know that they're speaking French or Spanish or another major language - that's not exactly a secret code. Enough people at their tables will understand what they're saying so it would be pretty stupid of them to try and collude and think they'll get away with it.

In one tournament I re-raised a French guy with 56 (as you do) and won the pot by hitting a straight when he couldn't let his JJ go.
He typed in 'imbecile' in the chat box - does anyone know what that means in English?

Strange, I was thinking about this earlier. I played against two Germans and two Austrians yesterday on Stars at the same table. I was never really worried as obviously on a site like stars it seems unlikely to get done over by collusion in this way.
