Hi Friends

Got up at 6.15, jumped in shower and got ready for work, left house 7.15 and argued with Poppet on way to work about washing up

Got to work made a cuppa and logged on, read some emails and awaited the arrival of my team

team arrived 8.30 and were rather distressed that they had new phones on their desks i calmed them down and showed them how to use the new phones

Payment run failed today so we had a bit of tension trying to get suppliers paid

Had a few texts and emails through day from my new man!

He also called at 6 o'clock

I was in Sainsburys doing the weekly shop

Unpacked shopping, had something to eat, washed up and then went on Blonde......

Is anyone really that interested?Huh??

The trouble is blogs, forums youtube all of these things need to be censored by yourself. i only read half of the threads on the forums i go on as i have no interest in the other half. Youtube has some lovely vids of women in high heels revving cars (don't ask me how i know, but it's very popular apparantly) but if you've seen it once you don't need to see it again(unless it floats your boat or revs your engine).

Pab said in his thread about his blog yesterday "Some blogs i read seem to be one long moan, or others that only get updated once every 3 months when the author has a nice touch, hopefully mine wont be like that but only time will tell"
again it's all about seperating the wheat from the chaf.

I just don't get the point of these blog things, I have read a few blogs on there and wonder are people really that interested in what someone has had for breakfast, or the latest ins and outs of your last break up, how long its taken to get from one part of the country to the other and how much your coffee costs at the service station?

In my day we wrote in a diary, these were often kept somewhere safe and private for no one else to see, all our emotional stuff, all the people who had pissed us off was not branded across the web for all and sundry to read.

I say to these blog writers get a life, get out there and have a bit of fun, don't fret that you haven't done your latest update, and if you do continue with these make sure that what you are writing doesn't end up in a court of law!!
shes not getting on at the mediums, just one blog in particular.take your issues up with the person, not me or other people who are just getting on with their own thing.

i think thats enough now.

This is an open forum, its seldom we all agree with the items discussed, I have just pointed out some negative issues with these sites, like my previous post said I am waiting to be converted into seeing the positives and i'm sure there must be some out there or myspace would not be so popular

Agree it's an open forum, however posting this on a thread which was inviting friends to view a blog can be seen as an attack on this individual, as I certainly felt it was initially.

Being 46, I also am from the days we kept diaries which were kept secret. Think of this:

How many people, especially youngsters who, having committed suicide where later found to have had a diary, however because no-one seen their writings those close to them were unaware there was a problem and were unable to help.

The daughter of a friend of ours was found to have a blog, detailing her difficulties at school and bullying etc. She had mentioned feeling suicidal and that she was sick of her life. A friend of hers made this known to her family and action was taken to help this lass.

She graduated in law last year.

Thank you for blogs is what I say.

Marmite you either love it or hate?

I have never tried it.  Is it nice?

Marmite is the best thing since/on sliced bread!

Squeezy thing is a pain in the arse though, stick to the glass jar!

 had something to eat

What did you have to eat?   Cheesy

I am just joking of course.   I like some blogs and read a few from the forum from time to time.  I also read a blog of a  guy who is in his first season of motor racing purely because I wanted to do this when I was younger.  I absolutely hate it when readers leave nasty comments on peoples blogs and decide to click the anonymous box,  if you want to take a pop at someone it should be done out in the open rather than hidden.  So many idiots say some whacked out things on the sbrugby blog,  it is jealousy more than anything I think

Top stuff Geo.

In th example you cite, it's not so much "get a ife" as "save a life"!

They are harmless, nobody is forced to write them, nobody is forced to read them. We - many of us - read blogs by folks who we admire, or have interesting lives. Thewy's blog is a great read, as Camel's used to be pre-Jake-hood, & Paul Phillips has a real stonker of a blog. I love 'em - the ones that interest me. Other folks watch junk TV, I prefer to read non-fiction, of every variety. Nature, science, blogs. Oh, & trains. Lots of them.

Surely that's the fault of the person, not the medium they are using to convey the message?

Yes I agree

I can see why teenagers would enjoy this kind of thing but I really couldn't see my friends catching up with my life by reading a blog, they would probably pick up the phone or meet me in the pub

Each to their own I say, but I still just don't get it, maybe this thread will convert me.......who knows

I occaisionally go back through the posts that i have made on this forum. Suggest you may like to do the same.

And then tell us it doesn't resemble a mini blog.

Is it just me, or there a sort of irony about posting on a web site to complain about people posting on web sites?

Why not just write it in your diary?

Nobody would be able to read it!

I think that's called Catch-22.
