Is it just me, or there a sort of irony about posting on a web site to complain about people posting on web sites?

Why not just write it in your diary?

Even if you do, someone will eventually put it on the web.

'On the morning of the 17th, I arose early and, after a hearty breakfast, wandered down to Covent Garden Market to take in the colours and scents of the day. Upon arrival, I made acquaintance with an elderly gentleman from whom the night hung heavy. He had clearly spent the early hours in a gambling den. He then proceeded to dull me with fantastical tales of some sort of horseless cart, which ran on rails....'

I just don't get the point of these blog things, I have read a few blogs on there and wonder are people really that interested in what someone has had for breakfast, or the latest ins and outs of your last break up, how long its taken to get from one part of the country to the other and how much your coffee costs at the service station?

In my day we wrote in a diary, these were often kept somewhere safe and private for no one else to see, all our emotional stuff, all the people who had pissed us off was not branded across the web for all and sundry to read.

I say to these blog writers get a life, get out there and have a bit of fun, don't fret that you haven't done your latest update, and if you do continue with these make sure that what you are writing doesn't end up in a court of law!!

so, just to clarify, you dont see the point of putting pointless information out into the open domain for people that you dont know to read? hmmm, lets see:

Good luck with the myspace thing Smiley

I also write an occasional blog on myspace, though as someone pointed out above, I'm becoming less motivated to carry on with it. It was quite a nice touch to see a few of my mates had subscribed to it though lol.

For me, it's really a place to keep a record of what I have (or have not) achieved in the world of poker. It's also a nice place to add video clips and photos, and ... It's also apparently pretty good for dating! Smiley

Some blogs entries (e.g. bluescouse's road to ruin, ZeeJustin coming clean over cheating online, Dan Carter detailing his rise to the top) are absolute class and well worth a read. There are several diamonds hidden in the rough. Poker-wise they can be another useful resource to add to the forums and books, and give a good insight into the mind of the blogger.

However, be warned!! It can be highly addictive messing around on myspace, so look out lol Smiley Don't let anyone tell you about the wonders of facebook - that'll be another 3 months lost!! Cheesy
